Most of the points of interest in this park are natural in nature. This stop is about one of the most important cultural landmarks of the modern era, Route 66, the Mother Road. An old, rusty sedan is propped up on concrete as if it were puttering along the abandoned stretch of Route 66 that used to cross here. A bench backed with a bumper provides a spot to sit and contemplate the slower-paced travel of a bygone era in comparison to the rapidly rushing traffic on nearby I-40. The old roadbed of Route 66 can be seen along a line of power poles.
