Visited this place Oct 26, 2024 after friends recommendation and zero regrets. One of the hidden jams in ABQ area. It was freezing temp so make sure to dress warm. Once arrived to parking lot, it was not clear where to go, good thing there were people camping and knew the area. You gotta go past the gate and about 0.5 miles there will be sign for San Antonio Hot Springs. Take a right at the bridge through the river and simply follow the trail. It gets a bit steep when you get close to springs. Pictures and words can describe the beauty of the nature at this place. Keep in mind it’s a approx 4.5 miles of gravel road and my FWD van made it easily, average 10MPH. Come early in the day if you want to avoid direct sun and come super super early if you want to avoid many other visitiors. Love this place is open to public and free. Definitely coming back This place absolutely has no service (at least AT&T)

This place should be closed during the winter! Do not attempt this place in the winter, especially during or after a storm. The road up to the trailhead is 2ish miles slow climb that is rocky, bumpy, narrow, and full of pot holes. This will take you more than 30 minutes. And in the winter the road is very icy. There are no rail guards, so if your car slip and fall, it’s down the cliff. Also, there are many pointy and large rocks that will cause undercarriage damage and puncture your tires. And if your car is damaged, it’s gonna be a very bad day. I’ve been to hot spring all over the world, and I would pass on this one due to hazardous road condition. Not worth the trouble.

In an era where digital media shapes our perception of place, video storytelling offers a unique way to document and preserve experiences. This recap of a hike to the San Antonio Hot Springs in New Mexico, captured with drone / handheld cinematography, reflects how media transforms personal moments into collective visual memory. By framing landscapes from new perspectives, media not only records reality but also reinterprets it, making experiences accessible beyond those who were physically present. Through this lens, video becomes more than documentation—it becomes a way of seeing, remembering, and sharing the world.

This is my go to Hot spring. I've been to many and this one is one of my favorite natural spots. It's on a hillside with multiple pools that cascade down. It's a wonderful hike up in winter when the access road is gated and worth the 5 miles. When it's not gated in summer or when the weather permits, it's less than a mile from the parking area to the spring.

Aside from the site itself, the people I've met here are amazing and quite unique. The laughs and conversations while soaking away the weekend hikes and associated cramps is great.

It is clothing optional. That said, it's discreet. Most are mindful if children are...
