This was my 3rd jump here over a 10 year timeframe. Was disappointed in a couple things.
Call me old fashioned, but on a beautiful sunny day while in the waiting area watching people jump, I don't want to hear Rage Against the Machine while the songs are dropping massive F bombs. Like super loud. I'm there with my kids and it was just vulgar music for an hour straight. We finally had to leave the area.
A bunch of the instructors in our plane were super unprofessional. Again, swearing left and right, screaming loud and just acting like children. Be professional, be fun, remember that we're all paying customers.
Was little to no instruction besides the orientation video. 2 of the 3 in my group had never been before, and aside from yelling in their ear 1-2 min before we actually jumped, there wasn't any orientation, "here's what to expect," etc. I get that the instructors have hundred of jumps, but to 99% of people coming, this is a major life event and could benefit from some dress rehearsal, assurances, etc.
I'm in my 40's but physically fit and super active. But we had a super hard butt landing that I think broke my tailbone. I'm not an expert, but I think the instructor mistimed the flare as there wasn't a lot of wind. It was a very hard hit where I smacked the ground right on my butt/back and felt more like a car crash. All the instructor said was "I told you we were going to come in fast." Didn't check on me, ask if I was okay, etc. That kind of hard hit would've been an ambulance ride for most people, and they just completely dismissed it as if it didn't happen.
Management probably needs to spend more time with the staff there to remind them of these super simple but important things that would make for a much better customer experience. Pretty disappointed all around on...
Read moreThe experience at Skydive Utah was absolutely amazing from start to finish. If you are a first time diver like me, I recommend getting the deluxe package. The photos and video they give you documenting the adventure are very high quality, and a treasure that you can easily share with family and friends. The different perspectives of the camera on the Tandem Instructor and the Videographer gives you the best variety of pictures. And the videos were extremely well done. I was excited AND nervous about going, but Lindsay, my Tandem Instructor, was so good about explaining what was going to happen, how I needed to position my body, signals, etc. She repeated it multiple times so I remembered. She also spoke aloud the security checklist so I knew what she was doing. I felt very safe and my nerves were calmed a lot by her professionalism and care. She also was thoughtful to ask about my comfort level before attempting to do different things with the chute on our descent. She did everything to ensure I had an amazing experience. I also recommend scheduling the last appointment slot of the day, because the sunset light is just gorgeous! After our dive, we were offered to dive again the same night for $50 off each dive. We totally jumped at the chance, and dove again this time almost right at sunset. My mom even joined us on the last dive, because she saw how much fun we had! Absolutely incredible experience, and definitely will do it again with Skydive Utah. If you have always wanted to go skydiving, and are looking for a beautiful, scenic, area to dive at, with a professional, safe, and caring company, you really need to schedule an appointment with Skydive...
Read moreTL;DR: Skydive Utah were experienced, professional, and safe. We had an incredible time. Wish we had taken dramamine beforehand!
My husband and I had a great experience! It was both our first time skydiving. Our instructors were so professional and experienced. I jumped with Clancy. When I arrived I told him I was nervous about jumping and he really set me at ease and made me feel so comfortable. He checked and rechecked (and rechecked) my gear, and explained what was happening every step of the way, from on the ground to the plane ride to the jump and all the way back down to the ground. They really make it so easy for you to experience skydiving!
The one thing I would say is I really wish we had known to prepare for motion sickness - I guess in hindsight that should have been obvious, maybe, but neither me or my husband anticipated it at all, it wasn’t listed on the website or in any of the emails on how to prepare for our jump, and we both got so sick on the parachute ride down! If we had known to eat a little something before our morning appointment, and take some Dramamine beforehand, it would have really improved our overall experience! We felt sick for hours afterward and one of us threw up after leaving the facility! So just a tip, if you’re prone to motion sickness definitely prepare for that!
Despite that, we still had an unforgettable, out of this world experience! There is nothing like it! And the team at Skydive Utah were complete professionals - we felt so...
