I visited to purchase a pair of Ariat boots, and during checkout, I requested the accompanying box. Unfortunately, my request was declined, as I was informed that they reserve boxes solely for layaway purchases due to their recycling policy. This situation led to a missed sale due to what seemed like a lack of awareness. It would have been possible to provide me with a box for the boots, and during restocking, retain it instead of recycling a single box. I find it a bit perplexing whether the management is aware that such policies might result in employees missing out on a $200 sale and hampering inventory movement. We bought a 300 gallon water trough 2 weeks ago was told by supervisor and the loader to keep my receipt in case of a leak. I called and spoke to store manager on a Tuesday about the leaks in 3 places of trough. He told me to bring it back for exchange ASAP. That Saturday I drove 2.5 hours to exchange BUT when I got there showed them receipt and right away was turned down for exchange. He said I took a chance on buying the trough. They wouldn't even make an exception so I loaded up the trough on my own and left with a $300+ leaking water trough. He wasn't a friendly person.
