Are you looking for a gym on post? How about a good selection of weights? Do you like pleasant employees? Do you enjoy working out? Then look no further, you've found the place to be at.
I've been coming to this place for quite a while now. You do have a lot of options when compared to the other gyms on post. For example, there are plenty of dumbbell weights in the room to your right, you have a cardio room, somewhat of a leg room, and then the back arm room. I would say you have quite a bit of options.
Now to the downsides, the sauna room should be getting hot from 190-212 degrees Fahrenheit like the one in Ivy but it does not. The one here gets to around 140. There are quite a few broken pieces of equipment and they should have been fixed or either replaced by now. My tax paying dollars mean more than that.
The gym is "24 hours" but that is only dependent on if CQ shows up for the day. The personnel do a count of how many people come in at night for each hour place. If the staffing can justify it, they will hire some night staff. And only the big room is open for working out in past 2100. However, at any other post, whether a lot of people come in or not, MWR would have night staff there managing the building.
I recommend coming to this gym but keep your expectations realistic though. I give this gym three stars out of three due to the...
Read moreI used to be a regular at this gym for a while, and while there were some things I liked, there were also a few reasons I eventually stopped going.
The gym is spacious and has a good variety of equipment. There’s a dedicated cardio room and another room with machines targeting different muscle groups. The free weights area is large and well-stocked, and it’s the only section that stays open past 9 PM—everything else shuts down at that time.
Unfortunately, several pieces of equipment were broken and remained unusable for long stretches, which became frustrating. The sauna, while a nice feature to have, rarely got hot enough to be truly effective.
The Staff: This was a major downside for me. While there are one or two staff members who are friendly and professional, most gave off a negative vibe. Some stared in a way that made me feel uncomfortable the moment I walked in, and others acted like they just didn’t want to be there. It wasn’t the kind of atmosphere that made you want to stick around or ask for help.
Overall: The gym has potential, and the setup is decent. But between the broken equipment, lukewarm sauna, and uncomfortable interactions with staff, I eventually decided it just wasn’t the right fit...

Just like the Ivy gym, this gyms layout feels a little silly and could have prevented this gym from feeling claustrophobic while in the weight room had its layout been utilized fully. This gym would be perfect if they switched the weight room into the huge main room and put the platforms and racks into the weight room, as well as upgraded a lot of their outdated machines and got some newer equipment.
You've been warned, if you go here at any of the busier times, like me for example, I'm here during the lunch rush, your risk of getting hit with a weight or having someone bump into you mid-set is extremely high here. So if you get mad easily this is...
