I stopped here to buy four planks to build a work bench. After waiting for the cashier and manager to finish their lengthy conversation at the register, I was rewarded with the cashier not knowing how to ring up what I asked for. I was charged for treated lumber which I did not ask for. I was then sent to the customer service desk where a paper was filled out to take back to the register. The cashier could no longer help me at that point and I was sent across the store to a 3rd register. After all this, the untreated lumber was rung up at 3 dollars more than the treated lumber. ?? The credit card pad would not work to complete the sale, so I waited for that to be re booted. 45 minutes to buy 4 eight foot two by tens at a cost of $65.00. I will never step foot in this store again. ** Update. It has been a while now since my visit, but others in the area report not much improvement...

We spent about 6 months with another company outside of St. Marys area ordering an expensive custom front door.... they couldnt get it right. So our money refunded, we turned to two local business specializing in home maintenance/supplies/home repair.... their customer service was horrible. Met with them x2, waited for retun calls, for info, for sizing etc.... called and left messages etc. Nothing. Turned to Burkes. They were immediately attentive, helpful and placed our order the next day! We got our new beautiful door in only 2-3 weeks. They were great! You would think when a homeowner decides to splurg $ on a front door businesses would be exstatic. Way to go Burkes.... you are #1 in...

Very unhappy with staff. Strict notices on door say masks required by law. Whether or no you agree is irrelevant at this point. I asked 4 employees and they gave me a dumbfounded look. The girl at the counter told me that they were not required to wear one. EXCUSE ME??? Are they exempt? The other three tried to make excuses about medical issues, but it was obvious, they were trying to make excuses as to why NONE of them had masks on. I don't care if they aren't worried about catching COVID, but they adsokutely could pass it to someone else. NOT GOOD.
