Well the day is almost here, time to get things setup. The only issue so far is the ugly table cloths!!! They are so wrinkled, called the Manger Rachel she said that's an extra charge to have usable table colths that are presentable. But there is a steamer provided if you want to to steam the wrinkles out... Unbelievable!!! This new management is questionable. We were promised last year under the old manager (She was awesome) that everything would be perfect don't worry, it's what we do! Will post a full and very detailed review after the wedding just to be fair. Plenty of pics to justify my complaint. Rachel I hope things are better during the wedding...
On the wedding day it was more like Unbelievably Spectacular everything went off without a hitch and those that were to be hitched were! But to be fair I must humble myself. I think I was too nervous for my son's wedding, yes we had to deal with the tablecloths but a machine was provided to take care of the wrinkles, most wedding venues don't give you 2 days to set up. Rachel talked with us and ended up doing a wonderful job with the whole event both Mr. & Mrs. were extremely happy with the ceremony. Everything that Rachel had control over went smoothly she was organized and well-mannered and they even had umbrellas up on the ceremonies site on the mountain for when it started to rain on practice day. Rachel quickly pointed out, better to rain on practice day than on the wedding day and everyone agreed. We had one problem before the wedding. A bottle of wine broke on the floor. Rachel was on it, taking care of it before you new it. She just handled it. I think I was more upset than her. The barn is a beautiful structure and a wonderful place for a wedding ceremony everyone loved it. But it was an extremely hot day in August, in the 90s. The barn has plenty of fans provided to keep the air moving, a lifesaver! Rachel and her assistant were there until the end of the evening and the first round of clean up was completed. We returned on Sunday to finish the clean up and put all the decorations away. I forgot, the barn has lots of decorations to use if need be and that was a tremendous help! As I said, I was too nervous for my son's wedding. Rachel deserves a five Star rating! Rachel and the Round Barn turned out to be an excellent place for our son's wedding ceremony!...
Read moreWent to a wedding here. It was absolutely lovely. Plenty of parking, fresh produce being sold all around, music playing that evening.
The reception was held inside the round barn itself. A once used, clay-brick silo stands tall in the center, like a huge circus pole. Huge wooden beams encircle the silo at the top, and gently tilt downward, creating even more of a Big Top look. Across the beams looked to be handmade shingles. When admiring, I could see little pieces of sky and moonlight peaking through The walls are wooden and the floor is made up of long, old wood planks; thick pieces of wood that look like they were cut straight from the tree, sealed, and laid as flooring.
I met the owner - kind and professional. I would absolutely...
Read moreMy family visits Gettysburg at least once a year and we were looking for something new to see. This popped up and I saved it on my "to do" list. Today we visited the round barn before heading home. I bought a peck of various apples grown right on their property. Also, couldn't leave without a half dozen apple cider donuts, pickles and tomatoes. We took a tour around the upper floor of the barn which can be used as a special event space. It was really cool and if I lived in this area I would definitely rent it for an event. Before we left, we visited the goats and gave them pets and head scratches. Glad I got to go here and cross it off...
