The mission of Gold City Gem Mine is to promote Education and Appreciation of Gold Panning & Gem Mining in a Fun and Exciting way....

Colleen Yarnell...... You came in asking for mail dirt but didn't want us to mail it, that's why we were so confused. The person at the register and myself tried repeatedly to explain to you that you were looking at mail dirt that is advertised on the webpage. We mail dirt nationwide and you were insisting on knowing where it was. We explained several times we take dirt from the buckets and box it to mail it and bag it to go with you for traveling. We double bag it and have done thousands of bags like that with no issues until yours. We are the Gem Capital of the World and have ever only had a handful of people who didnt know what they were doing say they didnt find a great combination of gems......

Liz Griffin.... Unfortunately we have to close at some point so we quit mining operations at 3:45 or we can close at 5 as it doesn't allow you the time needed. Nothing mean about it. We offered you a discount if you came back the following day, offered you to go dirt at a discounted price, and welcomed you to look around and shop til we closed.....

Danielle Gue...... Gold City Gem Mine has a huge heart as does Gold City Storage and this is a Gold City Storage issue, not a Gold City Gem Mine issue. Gold City was closed but you guys were taking up the whole Gold City Self Storage Entrance / Exit parking lot where there are several No Trespassing & No Parking Signs posted including the biggest sign stating "No Exceptions", this is so you don't block the advertising banners customers pay for as well as for our 60 paying self storage customers with 30' plus campers that need to have access in and out and so I don't have to respond on my day off because you kept setting off the Security System. I recommended a great, safe spot 100 yards away but you weren't concerned with anything I said or the fact you were trespassing.......

Matthew “M. Jones” Jones.... I wasn't in when you visited and can't imagine what happened but I'm sure it was a misunderstanding and I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Robert Grove...... I'm the one who made your wedding rings and I'm sorry I wasn't there to handle the problem when you came back in and that nobody reached out to me like they're suppose to. Yesterday going into NC form Ga hauling a vehicle we blew a radiator and had to pull out of traffic immediately so gold city was the only place at the moment - we were ther maybe an hour trying to fix the part and take it off and replace it - this man pulls up and goes off on us and taking pictures of our vehicles and tag numbers - we trespassed which in the moment we didn’t even see any signs , trying to get out of traffic without causing a wreck- he said he was calling the law and our cousin from NC told him to call them and we straight it out I understand his point but not how he handled it and we were doing the best we could and trying to get if she property - needless to say we had to put the bad piece back on and go into the traffic and go down the hill and pull to safety off the road which was not a option in the beginning what so ever coming up the mountain . We definitely didn’t do $15,000 to $50,000 in asphalt damage either it was water coming out of the radiator which was almost in the road already the water and antifreeze I’m just saying more compassion and understanding would of been appreciated we were all doing our best to get it done and moved and not to mention we also had a minor Child with us which was our upmost priority and concern...

I love the people here. The dude is very knowledgeable and a great salesman.

However, 2 of the $$$ rings I've bought from them have broken and one arrived to me in terrible and unacceptable shape.

One, the stone cracked and came loose. I brought it in and they said they couldn't do anything about it (after they mailed in back to me a month later) and I was out of luck. But since I liked them so much, even with the first issue, I bought some more.

In # two the stone fell out due to poor mounting. Yeah, I just noticed that one.

The third ring was 'custom made' and the surface is rough and not polished. The color of the ruby is so dark it may as well be black and is in no way worth the $600+ i spent on it.

I wanted to love this place and even came back after my first bad ring (the one they said "too bad for you, nothing we are willing to do to fix it".)

I was going to contact them about the ruby issue but after their lack of care or concern that the $350 ring they sold me a month prior was unwearable... I figure they won't be likely to help.

I give 2 stars only bc it is a fun place to go and the people are nice. The merchandise is overpriced and poor...
