I'm an expediter delivering freight to many businesses. Recently I encountered a bad experience when I arrived at the mill in Franklin VA. I was dispatched to pick up a load in Laredo Texas to deliver to the Franklin plant, a 1700 hundred mile drive. Upon arriving the next day it was learned that the freight arrived in the wrong type of vehicle. It should have been delivered in a truck that was dock high, the receiving department had no way to safely unload the freight which weighted 2000 pounds. The customer had no recourse but to refuse the load meaning, I would have to return the load to Laredo which for me was not an option. However noticing the position I was in and how I was unhappy with the situation I was in the receiving clerk contacted the department manager Ms. Virigina Lauver, she came out and reviewed the situation and informed me that she would do everything to help get me unloaded. Collaborating with other department managers at the site and bringing over special equipment they were able to unload me without incident. Turning this bad experience into a very positive outcome Everyone the at the Franklin plant were very nice courteous and apologetic for an inconvenience that they had no fault in.
