I was there on the 25th to the 26th, the tried to make me end my relationship with the woman I love, they also kept telling me that we couldn't leave, they told me I would be there for 3 months and waited until I got there then told me I would be there for a year. The lied to me about everything. They are not what they seem. I told them I wanted to resign and they tried to make me get 20 staff signatures to even be able to leave. I had had enough so I went back to my dorm packed my stuff and walked out while they were in a staff meeting, I jumped the fence went through the creek climbed up the side of said creek and hiked for 12 miles I hitchhiked my way into town and A god sent woman helped me. They disregarded how I felt and they were disrespectful as hell. They came looking for me but couldn't find me because I was smart enough to cover my tracks. They didn't notice I was gone until 4:30 and by that time I was already long gone. I escaped them and I'm absolutely glad. I recommend everyone stay far away from this campus they don't stand for...

I had an amazing experience here at LBJ... It was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. I went from mid 2002 and graduated in 2003. I made lots of friends, became highly involved in Rec activities, such as Ladies Softball (Lady Gladiator Champions 2002), became a Rec Leader for several months, and even ran the movie rental room. I passed my GED test within 3 1/2 months and continued with my chosen trade of Business Technologies. Mrs. Bell was an amazing professor and I learned a lot from her. During my time at LBJ I also became an Assistant to the SPO (Student Personnel Officer) on Campus. I highly recommend Job Corps to anyone looking to go back to complete their education, or even those wanting to learn a trade who are within the age limit. Again, this was an amazing experience and if I had to do it all over again, there would be many things I would have done differently and many I would re-live...
Read moreWell everyone I have to agree; LBJ job Corps Center is a great place to get started on your degree and learn a trade. I enrolled and started on January 1st, 1991. I can't remember the name of my building but it was the first building on your left when you first came onto the grounds. The driving school was on your right hand side if I'm correct. We had the girls building on the same grounds as well. I used to walk the pond at night with a beautiful young lady I met there. The staff was the coolest. I learned the trades of construction, welding and learned the trades of being a firefighter in those mountains. Even at my age I still Miss the place with great fondness Of memories. If I had only one word for all you young ppl that went and that's going, it is to cherish the memories and enjoy the moment because we get older everyday....
