Even though the elevation is not that high, this place is very amazing has all kinds of attractions a Tower that is the highest point in all of West Virginia. Tons of amenities maintained year-round worth a drive Gravel Road is kind of bumpy avoid potholes but make sure you bring food and have a picnic in this amazing secluded dark place at night where you can even see satellites and the Milky Way. I haven't found a place as great as this since North Carolina. Everyone should go down the trail and see Seneca Creek it's worth every...

Being here is one of the most beautiful places in West Virginia to experience...The only exception is New River gorge bridge in Fayetteville... The scenery here is next to glorious I can see why they call it almost heaven West Virginia... This was my first time visiting Spruce Knob as a West Virginia native... And I am so thankful to see this place... You truly feel almost on top of the world here... Lots of beautiful scenery and lots of peace and tranquility if you are a visitor to West Virginia then Spruce...

This is the highest point in W.V. The view's are like no other. The drive to the top of the mountain is long but it's well worth it. This mountain is beautiful. There are hiking trails around the mountain and also make sure you drive to Spruce Knob Lake it's a great place to fish. We loved everything about this mountain. This mountain was our favorite part of...

It’s almost that time! 🍁 West Virginia is one of my FAVORITE places to experience the fall season. The fall colors are really unbelievable. While this is not an exhaustive list, I’ve compiled my top spots in WV to help you plan the perfect fall road trip! Which spot would you head to first? 📍Blackwater Falls State Park (Davis, WV) -Take a short hike to the falls overlook, Elakala Falls or Lindy Point; take a scenic drive; visit Douglas Falls; explore Davis & Thomas 📍Spruce Knob- the highest point in WV (~5,000 ft) -Hike or drive up to the observation deck for sweeping views. 📍Seneca Rocks -Hike to the observation platform at the top of the rocks, take a climbing tour, or explore the discovery center. Stop at Yokums country store! 📍New River Gorge NP & Preserve -Hike, raft, climb, whatever your heart desires, just don’t miss the NRG Bridge! You can even book a tour to walk the catwalk! 📍Pocahontas County -Explore State Parks like Seneca State Forest (see Thorny Mtn Fire Tower) and Beartown; take a ride on the Cass Scenic Railroad; visit Cranberry Glades; hike to Falls of Hills Creek 📍Canaan Valley -Go for a hike (like Table Rock) or take a scenic chair lift ride! 📍North Fork Mountain -Hike to Chimney Top (rated hard) and stop at Cheetah B’s after; explore Smoke Hole Caverns 📍Dolly Sods Wilderness -Catch a sunrise at Bear Rocks Preserve; hike one of the many trails. Several of these spots are near each other, so you can cram in all the fall adventures! ❗️Please make sure you’re prepared to Leave No Trace before heading on your outdoor adventures! Happy fall exploring! ❤️🍁

POV: You’re on a mission to find the best fall hiking spots. Mission accomplished, I’d say! 🍁 Fall hiking in West Virginia is #AlmostHeaven, and thanks to a new @wvtourism and #alltrails partnership, it’s easier than ever to explore the state’s 1,500+ diverse, world-class hiking trails. #wvtourismpartner I love these trails near Davis and Thomas for fall views (all on @alltrails)!👇🏼 In Blackwater Falls State Park 📍Blackwater Falls Overlook Trail 📍Elakala Trail to Yellow Birch 📍Lindy Point W/in an hour of Davis/Thomas 📍Seneca Rocks Trail 📍Whispering Spruce Trail & Spruce Knob 📍Chimney Top via North Fork Mountain Trail 📍Bear Rocks in Dolly Sods Wilderness (catch sunrise at the Preserve & hike the Bear Rocks Trail) 🥾Ready to reach new heights and experience the best fall foliage? 👉🏼Head to www.WVtourism.com/alltrails for a free 1-year subscription to @alltrails pro. Then, tag #AllTrails and #AlmostHeaven in your adventures for an exclusive branded fanny pack! 🙌🏼 P.S. Lower elevations like Seneca Rocks and Chimney Top have yet to reach peak color, so you have plenty of time to get there! Head to WV Tourism’s website for a live look at their foliage map.

Some of my favorite hiking in the East is in…West Virginia! The rugged landscapes, quiet trails, and unique natural beauty make WV a great destination for adventure travel + a hikers paradise! 📌SAVE these 10 bucketlist hikes across the state: [& SHARE with your adventure friends!] ⛔️Help preserve the beauty of WV by staying on established trails, disposing of all waste (even food scraps), respecting wildlife, and leaving what you find.
