Will never return. No explanation of what to expect on the water. One very dangerous turn with very fast water. My family got swept under the trees and only my training on the water saved my kids. One was swept out of his tube, went under and hit his head. He was ok but it was at least 100’ away that he surfaced and was able to grab hold of something.

The company boat that helped us scolded us but we watched as the same tragedy befell group after group of floaters. People screaming. Being swept under.

Do not believe what you read on the web apparently. The locals won’t dare swim there this time of year. We were all out of towners that should never have been allowed in the water with those rapids. Apparently the River is super fast now and there are warnings. But you won’t see any unless you look them up. This is NOT the time of year for small kids or those not experienced with tubing. And those rapids should have been mandatory life jackets for all ages according to its speed and the government regulations that were ignored here.

They sure won’t tell you when they take your money. And once you’re dropped off you are in your own. They conveniently drop and run and leave it up to the floaters to find their own tube from the pile.

The provided life vests were all lacking. So much that the state of the life jackets has caused this old sea captain to file a complaint with the coast guard and hopefully this shoddily ran business with no regard for human life will be set straight. It was only advised for our 11 year old but should have been mandatory at any age due to River condition.

The company will not check on you. Not until you are within 10-15 minutes of the end.

And if the boat does help you you...

We have been coming tubing here for years and it's gone through so many owners. Last year the owners, albeit brief, made sure all the floaters had inflated tubes and frequently came up and down the river to check on us.

We have come a couple of times with these new owners. The first experience was pretty normal, however we noticed some things then too and thought they just had some things to learn. It was still early in the season and not as busy, but this float yesterday was just flat out ridiculous and we will never be back.

They raised their prices, do not check coolers for glass and don't even explain rules or provide advise to floaters that may be new. This is definitely a fun outdoor experience, but is very dangerous as well, and caution needs to be advised. We have never seen a gator on this part of the river, until yesterday.

They dropped us off at the four hour trip 30 minutes late, only to realize there were not enough tubes. They said those with tubes could stay and the rest had to go to the two hour drop off, where they took the other tubes. Then left. They didn't check the tubes, and thinking we had safe tubes we headed towards the water. 3 deflated before we reached the sand and 2 more once in the river. They did not come out to check on tubers in the boat until the very end, but luckily the river was low and we've done this before.

When we finally made it in, some of us rightfully irritated, we were chastised for being late and there was not one ounce of concern for any of the 11 tubers in our group. I will never go back to this place and wish we had brought our...

My wife and I enjoyed our 4 hour trip along the river. The staff was very polite. We did have some issues where I thought we might have needed to have some assistance, but we managed to get untangled (to be fair it was how we tied our tube with our tube holding our cooler). It’s a river so expect to be on the alert for trees, rapids, wildlife, etc., and there are quite a few bends, that with downed trees and branches can cause the flow to be unpredictable in some spots to where it will suck you into the banks. My wife and I (after our little getting tangled fiasco) thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We stopped at a little beach and had some snacks and stopped at another and had some lunch. I would say that unless you had some sort of water safety education or experience it might not be the best option as a thing to do simply because there’s not a guide. Personally I’d never went tubing (I’ve been kayaking numerous times) and didn’t think ahead when it came to tying all 3 tubes together (I won’t do that again), however I would definitely do this again as it was definitely...

We went the Saturday before Labor Day. There were a handful of other groups, and one big group having a BBQ on one of the banks. We did the 2 hour float, which was enough for us, but everyone else did the 4 hours (price is the same). They bussed us up to the start location, gave us tubes, and we got in by ourselves. The water was fine for a natural river, and there's a bit of tree cover towards the sides of the river, but not much. Several places to get out and chill on the banks if needed. Several downed trees you may need to navigate around. No crocs or wildlife that we saw, but there was a group of people with three motorboats that sped past us and kicked up waves, but everyone else on the river was there tubing or kayaking. It was very relaxing, and the staff is kind. Mostly teenagers/young adults and older. Bring sunscreen!!!!!

We go multiple times each year. We started with a small group of 4 and each year we add people. Last year, we had 26 people floating with us. Our yearly goal is to increase that number. We are already planning our 1st trip of the season. Between the beautiful weather, the cool water, the multiple sandy areas to stop, and the smell of sunscreen.. what more could you ask for? Get out there and enjoy yourselves. Ohhhh and definitely do the all day tubing, you'll regret it if you don't. Make sure you stop and tell the locals hi and play some beach volleyball. Bring your ice chest but pay attention to what you can't bring. I'd hate to eat all of your jello shots again BEFORE getting on the river( yes, that happened one year). Bring some music and friends and float away!! Feel free to use the photos on your page :)
