They had a patio setting and the weather didn’t helped the day we visited. I was under the impression It would be a little more like the wineries where they tell you a little background about each chocolate but instead we were handed a bag with tiny pieces of chocolate and a sheet with the info to read it ourselves and guess which one was which. It wasn’t bad It just wasn’t what we had in mind. We bought a couple bars and a bag of tea which was amazing by the way. I’m sure Covid doesn’t help either so we might give them another chance next time we’re on that side!

Small and assuming. For starters this place smells great. Our group got an opportunity to sample the various chocolate and watch a brief slide show on cacao. The karma chocolate is my favorite. It’s a toffee with a nuts. I also purchased loose leaf tea. The tea was just ok. It’s very pretty so I expected more body/boldness/ taste in the tea. For $7.99 the bags of tea can make about 30 cups which makes it a bargain. But overall I’m pleased with my purchases. They accept cash, cards and Apple Pay.

Well worth the stop or even a detour! The attendant was very knowledgeable, courteous and entertaining. The chocolate was incredible! 💖💥💖💥💖 and I have already recommended the place to multiple friends, mainly cuz I don't want to share my chocolate. Go get your own! LOL

While visiting Stonewall I visited the Chocolates El Rey store and purchased some chocolates and some fudge (peanut butter and chocolate de cafe). The fudge was the best I have had so I went online to order some more. The online website did not list the fudge de cafe flavor. I called the store and spoke with Austin Vanderlyn. Austin indicated that the fudge de cafe was not regularly available. I asked if I could make a special order and Austin and the chocolatier worked to make a special order batch of fudge de cafe for me. I am most appreciative of the exceptional care taken to accommodate my request. Great Chocolates and Excellent Customer service. Be sure to visit Chocolates El Rey when visiting in the Fredericksburg and...

If I could rate this place lower, I would. Two friends and I arrived at the shop wanting to explore the possibilities of chocolate. However, we were rushed to make decisions. We were able to sample the fudge and given samples in a ziplock bag. What stood out was when a couple entered the establishment, they were escorted to a sitting area and not rushed but dealt with delicately.

I purchased a pound of fudge for $20 with tax. The woman expressed her annoyance with my friends for not making a purchase. When I said have a great day, she replied “Um hum!”

Wow! That was incredibly rude. I would never go to this place again. Nor would I recommend...

We stumbled across this place as we were traveling through the Texas Hill country. We went inside because we saw the big sign that said free chocolate samples. The store operator was so kind and friendly. He offered us free samples of his freshly made fudge and other chocolates that he had made earlier. I've sampled many different kinds of world famous chocolates over the years, and this was truly among the best I've ever had. The chocolate is sourced from Venezuela. And it is Rich and has a great depth of flavor. Stop by and try for yourself. Very enjoyable. ...
