Used to be our favorite stop for peaches, other produce, peach soft serve ice cream and gift items! But, no more! Yesterday, July 19th, we were told they had no peaches because of a hail storm in April. But, it seems that a business decision was made to use their peaches for their own kitchen, making pies, cobbler, etc. So, they have peaches. Plus, they are now a Flea Market. Plus, now they have no bathroom for their customers! These last two items are troubling! Bucee’s started business by advertising clean bathrooms! They are now drawing so many customers they are selling billions of dollars of Jerky, Brisket Sandwiches, T Shirts, etc. Gold’s is going backwards! We bought peaches yesterday at Vogel’s, Engel’s, and Fresh Pickens! All in the Stonewall area. We had to stand in line at all three because they were so busy! It is a telling story when you have a good business, you change your business model by not selling your primary draw, peaches, and you skimp on costumer service by closing your bathroom, and you convert square footage to a Flea Market! Such an awesome place! The farmer is a doll and is always up for good conversation—he gave good insight on why peaches thrive in this environment. The ladies behind the counter are super friendly and also absolute sweethearts. Beyond the service the food is fantastic. The ice cream is absolutely delicious and freshly made based on which produce they have. At the time of my visit they had added strawberries as they were short on peaches. The people outside were friendly, they greeted us and told us the prices for the peaches, but once we entered the kitchen, a rude lady told me "To wait because she was helping another customer" when there was no one in sight. She refused to help us and we decided to leave the kitchen and not buy anything. This was the worst customer service experience in Fredericksburg. Never again coming here.
