Well, we just got "fired" by Feagan's Furniture! Five years ago, we spent over $10,000 with them on furniture for our home (20 years ago, my wife's family spent $40,000 on furniture for their new home when they moved). Twice, my entertainment center was broken. One time, someone who assembled it drove a 2" long wood screw between the top and bottom pieces and completely split the wood in the bottom part (that the TV sits on). They scratched my wall in my hallway so badly, it had to be patched and repainted - and I never called to complain about it because I knew the furniture was VERY heavy and difficult to carry and maneuver. A couple weeks ago, we made the drive to Fredonia to order more furniture from Feagan's - giving them another chance. This week, a chest of drawers to match our bedroom furniture was delivered. Upon arrival, we asked the delivery men to remove their shoes, as we had just had our carpets cleaned. The youngest of the two piped up and said they didn't take their shoes off because they might drop a piece of furniture on their foot and they need the shoes to protect them, even saying, "I don't take my shoes off for anybody." Did I mention that he had on a pair of cloth-top Nike tennis shoes to "protect" his feet? He never offered to put on shoe coverings or anything. We swallowed it and dealt with that. Immediately after the delivery men left, we noticed that something wasn't right. The wood inside the top drawer was split, causing the drawer to sit lopsided. We immediately contacted the store and the delivery driver called me. Ryan, the owner's son, was completely put off that I asked him to come right back (they had only been gone from our home appx. 10 mins.) because my wife had worked all night and needed to go to sleep and it was already after 11 am. When they got here, Ryan suggested that we just stick the plastic drawer bumper back into the split piece of wood and all would be fine. I was extremely upset. Ryan offered no apology or anything. Instead, he got defensive and raised his voice at me and took a step toward me. I told him to take a step back and that he wasn't going to talk to me like that in my own f*$&ing house. The testosterone-fueled exchanged continued, even with Ryan announcing that he was the owner's son and that if we didn't like the solution he offered, we could take our business elsewhere and good luck trying to get it cheaper anywhere else. My argument was this: who pays for a brand new anything, it get's delivered broken, and it's just supposed to be fine? My wife finally jumped in and we all came to an agreement: Ryan would take the dresser back to the store and repair it with wood glue and brads and take a whopping $25 (less than 2%) off of the price of our $1,245 broken NEW dresser, and he would deliver it in like-new condition later in the week (What the hell were we thinking?). We never heard from them, so today my wife called the store to be told that I had "cussed out" the two delivery drivers and they both said they would not come back here, and she wasn't going to make them, and she had put my check in the mail. My wife told her she was disappointed that she had not reached out to us to tell us this herself and to discuss the issue with us, and to at least get the other side of the story. She explained to her that I did use foul language, in our own home, and that i was upset about the young man's attitude about the shoes, having to come back, the furniture being heavy, and he was the one who brought up the entertainment center problems from five years prior, not us. she told her how disappointed she was because we had agreed to the repair and I was planning on coming up tomorrow and ordering even more furniture, in spite of the mountain of issues we have had with them and the furniture! We gave them another chance, and they let us down again. This is what I get for not following my own advice: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! Also, you get what you pay for....
Read moreI was totally appalled with the absolute rudeness of one of the sales people. Yes, I special ordered a chair and the color was not what I expected. I called the store right after I got home. Mind you we live an hour from the store. I never asked for my money back and never expected to get it back, I wanted to trade or something to get a chair that matched. My phone conversation was probably less than two minutes. I tried to explain, but was told no take backs on special orders. I was then told to sell it to a friend or sell it in a "yard sale". Really? I just spent $1100.00 on a chair and I am told to sell it in a yard sale. The remarks were flippant and just plain mean. I work pretty hard for my money and for someone to be so callous goes beyond my realm of thinking. I will never recommend or even set foot in Feagan's...
Read moreThis little country store's furniture is moderately priced, and sometimes, nicely arranged. The salespeople are, for the most part, considerate. They have quite a bit of furniture for being in the middle of nowhere. But if you're unlucky enough to be served by a saleswoman named shane walters, you won't go back. She seems to go out of her way to be insulting. If she were an employee of mine, i would let this 'gift' go and help another furniture...
