My boyfriend and another couple and I came for July 2017 154th Reenactment. We bought bleacher seats in advance for the first day and arrived early to beat the crowds/traffic. We are in our mid 30s and none of us are huge history buffs, but enjoy learning about history and all wanted to come to this. The whole site itself is pretty cool with everyone in costume and playing their role for their accompanying costume. It is like walking back in time while walking through their markets and seeing their campsites filled with tents. The actually battle reenactment was interesting to see. It was not very loud (thankfully) and it was awesome to hear historical facts regarding strategies, weapons, costume, etc. while watching the reenactment.

It was a good time. A lot to look at. Souvenirs to buy. A bit of different foods to try. I suggest you follow the tips they give you. The staff was great, very easy to follow parking directions. Shuttles available for people with mobility problems, that helped us quite a bit. Talking to the people down history row was very informative. Unfortunately the heat and humidity got to us so we left a little early.

I highly recommend this to any history buff. Speak to as many characters as possible. Great expierence for all ages. Make sure to stay hydrated and have plenty of sun block. Take an umbrella and possibly long sleeves.

If you like history, especially civil war history, you will want to attend this 3 day reenactment at least once in your life. I gave 4 stars because I expected the reenactments to be much more spectacular with many more reenactors. I based this on past reviews and the fact that the movie that was shot here used footage from a reenactment. Also, I expected the battles to be fought in the authentic places, but this reenactment field was not one of the authentic battlefields. I found out that the the authentic battlefields are Federal property, but a private company puts on the reenactments. The Park Service won't allow the reenactments on their property. The authentic battlefields are within site of the reenactment field, however, and it is possible to tour them in between scheduled battles and after battles up to 10pm. The Eisenhower farm is nearby as well. Tickets for bleacher seating were $30 each day if purchased ahead of time or $40 at the gate without bleacher seating. First come first served. Kudos to the reenactors who were out there in 90+ degree heat in those uniforms. This reenactment occurrs each year on the first...

It was fun and it was nice to look around. It was very hot when we went and there wasn't anywhere to cool off. My son that is almost 2 my husband and I had to keep going to the car to try to cool off. Also the reenactment parts were very far apart. It was $70 for 2 adults and if you have kids older the 6 they are $20. We thought it was over priced and the food there was also over priced. It was nice to see and it probably would of been better if it wasn't so hot. The people working there were very nice and helpful. We might go again if it was a little cheeper, not as hot, and if our son...
