Decided to take my sister horseback riding yesterday for her birthday. The staff is unprofessional. I asked about the weight requirement and she said 250lbs. She then stated anyone over 250lbs needs to cleanse and eat salads. That comment was unnecessary.
My brothers horse almost fell twice.
It was my nephews first time on a horse and they gave him a horse named poncho, they stated he was kid friendly. Poncho was not friendly and even tried to go off the trail. Anytime, I tried to pass him, he tried to bite my horse, which eventually he achieved. There was a group behind us and the guide was training a new horse she couldn’t handle. He continued to try and attack my horse and the other horses in the group. She then galloped off which caused the other horses to gallop as well. my 12 year old nephews horse chased after her and my nephew fell off the horse. The trainer and guide Ashley who was training the new horse, did not have the horse under control. The horse eventually skid, fell, and the trainer Ashley fell off the horse. It looked like she broke her leg. That horse should have never went on the trail with beginners. One of the guides told my nephew they check the horse then the rider. SMH! When asked if Ashley was ok they rolled their eyes and kept saying she’s fine.
I’ve rode on a couple of trail rides and I never experienced anything like this. The staff was unprofessional and should of demonstrated better judgement and situational awareness. Why would you train a brand new horse with a group of beginners? Is the trainer Ashley ok? I gave one star because my horse payday and the other two horses in our group were good. Also, she took 10 dollars off the price but it wasn’t really a discount because on the website it said 50 dollars per person and over the phone she told me 60. She really charged the price it was suppose to be anyway.
In response to the owners reply because clearly she’s lying. She was not on the trail ride with us. Poncho was trying to bite my horse before I tried to pass him. When I tried to pass him to catch up with my brother, he became more aggressive. Secondly, Ashleigh Stated the horse she was riding was new and did not know the others and she was training the horse. That is from your own employees mouth. I don’t care how many times you’ve taken Poncho out that day he was extremely aggressive from the beginning of the ride , before I tried to pass him he was turning trying to bite my horse . If he was well trained, why did he try and bite my horse? Why did he try go off course? Why did he chase after the horse ashleigh was ridding? I’ve rode on a couple of trail rides and I never seen horses act that way. I eventually went to the back of the line because of Ponchos aggression. Ashleigh came with her group and the horse she was riding tried to attack my horse. She stated the horse was new and it was her first time on the trail. She then stated, she did not know the other horses, that’s why she was being so aggressive. Once again, why bring a horse that is being trained on a trail with beginners? There was also another little girl in that group and that was her first time on a horse. Take responsibility for the decision that you clearly made. You made a horrible decision that day. Yes, horses are not robots but as an owner it is your responsibility to try and make the best decision to prevent an accident. That day you didn’t. Your employee had the nerve to say first they check the horse then the rider. Wow! You need to talk to your staff about professionalism and you also need to make better decisions. Not to mention when my nephew first got the horse they said he was kid friendly. Then When we got on the trail ride and the guide saw how aggressive he was she said, “yeah Poncho can get a little moody sometimes.” How is he kid friendly? The sad part is nowhere in your response did you show sympathy or compassion for my nephew falling. That speaks volumes about your character.
I recommended people stay far away...
Read moreI gave 1 star because the trail was nice but I did not enjoy this experience at all!!!! They give out consent forms to release them from liability from any injuries which is standard for high risk activities, but they did not even bother to check if the saddle was on right or if my feet were placed in the stirrups. My feet were dangling the majority of the time. During the entire ride my feet couldn’t reach the foot placers and I felt like i was on an electric bull holding on for dear life whenever the horses galloped or went up and down a hill. I told Lily MULTIPLE times that I felt like I was falling off and she completely disregarded my complaint. She did not do anything to fix it and said it was the shortest the equipment could go. Lily is also 14 years old and it’s a bit concerning that we’re in the hands of a teenager that does not care when we feel unsafe during the ride. It wasn’t until I told TJ that he attempted to help me when we reached the lake but the equipment was just not made for short people. I ended up riding the entire trail afraid that I would fall off. It was a...
Read moreAMAZING!!! We had a large group this weekend and the wonderful staff HANDLED it! I loved my experience. The trail, the scenery, the river, and everything was just beautiful. The guides were soooo kind, cool, patient, and awesome. My horse was "Meatloaf" and I absolutely had an incredible time. My guide was "Jill" and she was the kindest, most patient, and knowledgeable guide ever. She apparently loves her work, just because of how she treated the horses on the trail and while getting us ready to go. The people who wrote the negative reviews clearly didn't give this group a shot. I have nothing wrong to say about my experience. Lily, JT, Jill, and there was another lady whose name I didn't get, but sweet, dedicated, and knowledgeable as well, were ALL great. The owner is passionate. She was eager to get everyone going. Strong character, but that's just passion and trying to make sure everyone is safe and running on time, which are all great signs of LEADERSHIP! If there were 10 stars, I would give them. GOOD JOB guys. I can't...
