0606 hours January 13, 2025 update of unrested truck driver.
I called the receiving to let them know about my opinion. She let me know the chalks are no longer available because they lock your trailer to the dock. The reason why they saw my airline off because the truck driver came to check for safety which tells me he's too lazy or she to get out of their truck and knock on my door to let me know I'm ignorant for not undoing it to know. I'm taking away another star. They haven't changed the message or nor do they offer a message telling you to do these things.
I did everything right the first time they cut me here too many hours. This is my second time here had no idea I had not disconnected my airline or chalk my tire because I did not see the sign when I pulled up to the gate. I can remember it in my head from the first time I was here. Where is the safety? Why didn't the dock gate person? Tell me when I came here why isn't it in the text .. No phone call. Nobody stopped and knocked on my door to tell me a dismal text. This is my statement about truck driver's needing rest. This is ridiculous and I'm gonna miss my dental appointment.
Do you guys have a union here? What the heck ever happened to phone calls?
There's a big gap in communication here. I did not even see that sign nor is it in your writing in these texts you are only communicating through text I was sleeping.
Furthermore, I have a medical situation now I'm gonna be late for my doctors appointment.
These are not normal forms of communication with this seriousness. Where is your chalk? There aren't any chalks to chalk your tire my airline is disconnected. This is very frustrating. I counted on this dental appointment.
A truck driver needs rest. You are forcing us into not getting normal rest because of your inability to call somebody on the telephone. Is your driver in the truck that drives around the yard too lazy to get out of the truck and dock on my door these are normal forms of communication . My review starts today on this facility. It's my second time here not happy. I will take a picture of the chalk being here also to let know how silly this is I mean like crazy we're talking safety. You're texting me telling me to disconnect my airline and to chalk my tire and there's no chalk....
Read moreWhere do I start..... Well, the Produce(883) section made us work in a power outage contributing to a young ladies trip to the hospital the day before Memorial Day.. Instructed by upper management I might add..... meat, dairy and grocery workers do not like coming to help because of the lack of pallets and safety. Extremely high turnover rate for the pickers in this area because they are timed and must seek out pallets. Climb in racks and go down other aisles to find pallets.Adding hours to a day.The ABP pay is low balled. Produce is far harder to pick due to being wet, having tabbed boxes, and pallets being 6 feet in the racks. No added time for that... No bonus for picking over 100% which is just rediculous. The management acts like they listen and care, but at the end of the day any problem is just dealt with through the physical and mental stress of non management... Lack of trailers leaves the few loaders they do have with much higher stress levels than paid for and much longer hours than necessary. Again this is an upper management issue not resolved effectively... Manipulation and pressure are the go to tactics to get good employees to do undesirable jobs rather than proper incentive like pay raises. The equipment is the bottom of the barrel and rarely enough to provide the entire team for the day. Women stand little chance with the poorly operating mid riders which are terrible for shoulders... Being 3 doors down for construction should constitute a cap on product rather than put workers at high risk of danger. There's only 1 lane for the entire crew to use. Most employees have less than 3 months experience. Absolutely not the warm and fuzzy that the orientation videos portray. The max out pay for floor workers is 25 which is sad.. The insurance is piss poor and high priced causing great distress to the single parents trying to provide... I was reprimanded for refusing to do a job I did not sign up for. Conveniently through Email transaction so I could not have a UNION REP present to stand up for me..... The Pay and Treatment of floor workers should be an embarrassment to the multi Billion dollar company... 883 section is a soul consuming existence and Good workers should seek...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the WORST distribution centers and companies I have EVER delt with!! Not only do they not have a correct and accurate phone number to reach them when you arrive (so you spend 15-30 minutes on the phone trying to figure out who to even speak to) then you end up getting hung up on a few times before you even get to the right department to speak to. By that time they tell you that your late (when your not and you've been sitting here for an hour trying to figure out just how the heck to sign in.) We've signed in with the gaurd shack at the proper time mind you. So now they want to refuse the load for 24 hours and reschedule. We have 3 different departments on this truck. 1 they want to schedule for tomorrow, and the other 2 for 2-3 days out. Basically we would have to sit here almost a week. When we got loaded the place that loaded us was supposed to load us at 4p.m. they ended up loading us at 8p.m. that gave us 11 hours of straight driving with no stops to even get here and it was a 10.5 hour drive on GPS and that was no problems in traffic factoring in. Well we managed to get here, and on the way here I read the reviews. They are absolutely right...this place is terrible, rude, unprofessional, and makes up thier own rules. You couldn't pay me $10,000 to bring another load back to this place, or deal with this company ever again...we stayed in contact with the Broker all evening and night. So if you see any loads for "Meijer's"in Newport, Michigan just say no.!! Thru have got to learn they cannot treat people...
