This is a must play course when heading up north in Michigan. I had a three hour drive up and it was well worth it. Absolutely love this course. Lots of elevation changes, water and tree lined fairways. The views are awesome and the course is in great condition. The greens were great in the morning and as well in the afternoon for our second round. The cart paths are all dirt but in decent shape. The rough is deep in some spots and will definitely make your next shot tricky. The fairways aren't the widest but you have room to miss. If you get in the trees it is very well manicured around the trees so you will probably have a shot or punch out back to the fairway. Over all this course is the one to play. Fun, challenging and in great shape. One I will being playing again soon!

Very fun course! Great course design for challenging, but fun play. Fast greens! Course was well maintained, though the maintenance staff could use some manners. One of the mowers was mowing tee boxes and made us wait for him to mow, then replace the markers on every tee for the front 9, which was very rude, and drastically slowed our pace of play having to wait 10 minutes to tee off every hole. Tried to say something, but he just acted like he couldn't hear us. Found it odd so much maintenance was being done on Friday in the first place, but aside from the jerk on the mower, we had a great time playing here.

Hidden gem in Harrison Mi. The course is very interesting with lots of water, elevation changes, and great conditions. I found it challenging but fair and for $38 fall rates on a Saturday you can’t beat it. Staff is extremely friendly. The drinks and food at the turn were also reasonably priced. Pace of play was a little slow, but it was a Saturday and we finished in just under 5 hours. Would definitely come back and recommend to others to play.

We go to Harrison a couple times a year and stay at Nichols Cozy Cabins. We invited my son, who is an avid golfer, and decided we would try to find a nice place to play a decent round while we were there.

We got to The Tamaracks on a very cold October morning. Wasnt sure how long we would have to wait as there was no one there at 930. It was the first frost of the year n bitter cold out. The owner showed up at 10. Great guy, let us get out immediately. The course is set back in the woods and has one of the most beautiful sceneries i have ever had the privilege to play in. The course and greens are so well maintained you would almost forget it was fall if it wasnt for the incredible coloring of the trees. Fairways were clean n leaf free, greens were debris free and freshly aerated making for an amazing experience.

We will be back. I look forward to playing thia course in the summer as well. Highly recommended and next time i will...

The course itself was in good shape and the clubhouse is pretty cool, but there was no organization whatsoever this Saturday. We arrived early to check in and pay but were not even asked names or tee times. When our tee times came around and we rolled up to the first box and there was no starter. A group of 5 snuck in front of us all playing their own. As soon as they went off a group of 9 playing together pulled in directly behind us. The pace of play was absolutely brutal. Looking around the course there didn't seem to be a ranger or anyone enforcing the number of players in groups or rate of play. It was a total free for all, no organization. What's the point of booking tee times if you can just head out whenever you want with whatever size group you want? After an excruciating front 9 we couldn't bear it anymore and called it quits. Overall it was a waste of money and a very disappointing end to an up north...
