I recently started taking 1:1 horse riding lessons with Mara at Ballentine Farms, and I cannot say enough good things about her. As someone who had never been on a horse before, I was a bit nervous about starting lessons. However, Mara's kind and friendly demeanor immediately put me at ease.

Mara is an amazing teacher who is incredibly patient and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain everything to me in a way that was easy to understand, and she made sure I felt comfortable and confident on the horse. Mara also goes above and beyond by sharing fun facts about horses and helping me understand the differences in breeds, which has been fascinating to learn.

Thanks to Mara, I have developed a newfound love for horse riding. She has been instrumental in my progress and has helped me determine what I enjoy most about riding. I am so grateful for her guidance and support, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn how to ride horses. I love Ballentine Farms to death. The horses are so loved and you can’t find a barn anywhere else with such a welcoming and loving community of equestrians. I’ve been riding horses for 14 years and this is the best stable I’ve ever been to; no matter your age or experience level you are welcome here. They teach you everything you could possibly want to know and more about riding and horse care. They specialize in walking horses which are more smooth to ride than trotting horses.
