Bentwinds Country Club — Local services in Fuquay-Varina

First time playing here. Don't know any members here and had never heard of the course. Definitely flies under the radar. Course is in amazing shape considering we haven't had much rain. Seems to be very well cared for. Carts were nice and quiet. Grounds crew and greens keeper did an amazing job with pin placements and the quality of the cups. The sand was even and raked in a gorgeous pattern. I wish I could clone this crew and put them at other courses in Wake county. Great job!

Layout and design are the weak points here which is not the staffs fault. Played from blue and still could not find many holes to use the driver, especially on the back 9. Lots of layups and dog legs. Too much distance between some of the holes which makes it very unfriendly to walkers. Walking 18 was fine because I walk when I play but I don't recommend walking here. Greens are very firm, fast, and fair but have lots of undulations (in my opinion). Driving range has space for irons or wedges only and has fewer bays than most courses but other practice areas are great. Seems like instead of building a neighborhood around the golf course, it's almost like they built a golf course in the neighborhood if that makes sense.

I will play anywhere so this place is ok in my book and I would gladly go back. Glad I got to see it, but I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything based on my preferences. This course may check all the boxes for...

We used the facility to host a wedding reception in the early spring. The service ultimately proved to be almost bipolar. The planning phase went quite well, with the menu being flexible and the staff being helpful to make sure everything was in place as it needed to be. But the day of the event, the staff turned very rude, with the head coordinator of Bentwind being outright nasty to my now father-in-law in a disagreement over a malfinctioning sound system. (The sound system is supplied by Bentwinds for a price but malfunctioned the day of. Three sound techs finally got it to function, but very poorly.) The head of the wait staff was no better, being outright mean to several of the people present. My guests were polite from what I saw, so I really am not sure what provoked this. It was so disappointing. They were so helpful leading to the event. I am honestly not sure what went foul. The facility itself is quite lovely, especially for the price. Just do not use the supplied sound system. And be wary...

We had our rehearsal dinner at Bentwinds and everything was amazing! The food and drinks were great, but most importantly, the customer service was spot on. One of my brdiesmaids had a 3 year old and the wait staff just brought him out these delicious chicken fingers and fries without them even asking or without him even making a fuss about not waning any of the food! The wait staff also came around individually to the table where my fiance and I were sitting to congratulate us on getting married the next day. Beyond the fact that the place was beautiful, food was excellent and the dessert was out of this world, AND my drink glass was never empty, the people working the event that night went above and beyond their duties to ensure every person at our dinner was satisfied.
