Two years ago my husband had a heart attack, this is a man that does not go to the doctor for anything, until this! In Aug of 2018, he was stung by a wasp! I know some people think so what? Well, he is allergic to wasp, so we waited around the house until he thought he better go, it was swelling in his chest, he didn't know if it would interfere with his meds he was on. So we went. We were in there for 15 minutes waiting and then the doctor comes in and says, wasp sting, huh? Here is a bag of ice, wasn't even a baggie, it was a piece of plastic wrapped around about 6 cubes of ice, said you will be fine and we left. He saw him for about 7 minutes, and we left.
We received a invoice of $810.43, they Adj paymt to $523.00 because our insurance deductible had not been met.
I called the office and they said, well that's what we charge! FOR ICE?
I ask to talk to a supervisor, she said she could only take a message, and they would get back with me. I disputed the large amount that they charged for nothing. I expect to pay my bill, a reasonable amount, but my goodness. I don't even have insurance because its too expensive. We can only afford insurance for my husband. And with him having heart conditions he has to have it. No one has called me back, I have called twice and now they are turning us over to a collections agency. This is why this country/state is in the shape its in because of medical conditions such as this. It was ice for GODS SAKE!!! Maybe this review will get them to call me. Nothing else has. Please don't consider using this ER, the cost is ridiculous. They don't need even one star. I did pay the ER doctor which was ok, It was $83.00. But to just give us ice for his sting, come on! $523.00, for the...
Read moreI have never wrote a review before but thought this needed to be written. My first experience with Sumner was about 6 months ago, my family was looking for some help with a suicidal Grand Daughter , we were calling around to see if we could get some help , or find out where to go to get her help ,so we called the ER and talked to a "nurse" named Kim, we were told that they do not deal with those type of situations and told to try somewhere else, the girl we were seeking help for is 13. with no recommendation as to where to go. With all the suicides in teenagers these days I was sickened by their response. We are in Macon county and there is limited help out in the county. We did get help, no thanks to them, at Vanderbilt Childerns Hosp( A fantastic place by the way). My second time at Sumner was a joke !!! I took my 31 yr old daughter to the hospital on Monday night for severe muscle pain in both her arms and thighs, and a massive headache, she was given Torodal , Benadryl and Finnergin (not sure about the spelling). they took blood and when she was asleep they released her. With no help at all. All they did was dope her up and send her on her way. We were back in the ER morning for the same thing again. All they did was treat her like she was looking for pain meds and told her it might be arthritis . She specifically told them she did not want any pain meds till they found out what was going on. But they did abluletly nothing to help her. My suggestion is for all looking for any help go the extra and go to Hendersonville and don't waist your time and the health of your family. This...
Read moreI did not have a good OB ultrasound experience at the diagnostic center. The screen was turned away from me, so I couldn't watch the ultrasound. When I asked if she could even see my baby (8w2d), I was told the "techs cannot read ultrasounds and only report measurements to the radiologist who is trained to read them". This is obviously untrue and insulting to be told that the tech doesn't know whether my baby is present. I would have understood if she couldn't give the opinion of a viable pregnancy, but a visual or measurement is a number, not an opinion. She wouldn't tell me anything, so I have to wait 24 hrs to find out if my pregnancy is viable. I called back after for an a separate question and decided to mentioned my frustration to the receptionist regarding their policy. I said I really didn't want to make a big fuss, but, despite my reluctance, she said she really wanted me to talk to the manager. I was told at 12:50 that he would call by 3:00. It is 3:36 now, and I haven't heard anything, so I decided to write this review. I haven't written a review in years, but this was pretty upsetting. Given the array of ultrasound options in the Nashville area, I would not recommend the facility (though clean and nice) to any of my pregnant friends, as I'm sure they would want to be able to see their baby during the scan and would want to know basic information like whether there is a heartbeat, CRL (baby...
