A good way to get along with God. I've camped in the Sierras twice; the first time was a week with a dozen or so guys and a couple of dogs for a 'bachelor party' of fishing and camping(The best bachelor party you could ever have), and the second trip was three guys and a dog for a week of camping and fishing on a river. On the first trip we traveled 3 hours into the mountains with no cell service, and four-wheel drive was the only way to make it up that far and even that was a little dangerous or iffy from time to time, and it was the best camping adventure of my 42 years of life. The second trip was to a more public site where we hiked only a few miles up a mountain following a river and camped on the edge of the river, and that was also an amazing camping and fishing experience. Both trips were poorly timed as far as fishing goes, but it didn't matter; they were both amazing experiences that I'll never forget. The wilderness of God is amazing, and getting to experience God's handiwork up close like that is something everyone...

Especially in the winter time. People have been killed in their cars when trying to sit threw a sudden snow storm. Always pack food and water, even if you're just driving threw. There are many places to stop along the way for supplies before you head into the mountains so do it. CAMPERS: Please contact local Rangers when choosing a camp ground.
