Brookside Discount Grocery — Local services in Garfield Township

Edited on 9/5/20: I went to this store yesterday and was VERY bothered by seeing the employees' lack of mask wearing. None were wearing masks, even those serving customers. There was no shield at the cash register, no hand sanitizer, nothing. If you care at all about safety during this pandemic, don't shop here.

This is a fun, interesting place to shop. If you're willing to take expired goods (I prefer to use my eyes and nose rather than a stamped date to tell if something is good), there are amazing deals to be had. I WOULD GIVE 5 STARS BUT BROOKSIDE, AFTER 4 YEARS OF SHOPPING THERE, HAS TURNED ON ME (all of us). IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD HE WILL TAX YOU AN ADDITION 3.75% ON YOUR FOOD BILL. THEY CLAIM IT IS A NEW CREDIT CARD SERVICE. THEIR PRICES ARE HIGH ENOUGH FOR CLOSE AND OUT DATED FOOD. I GUESS AFTER THE NEW REMODELING BROOKSIDE FEELS SOMEONE HAS TO PAY FOR IT. GREED, EVEN AT BROOKSIDE GROCERY.

Brookside is doing an excellent job, we really like the new extra space, the service and pricing are truly unbeatable. If you think the rates are to high for the convenience of using a credit card then just bring cash, you do remember what that is don't you.
