Buffaloe Lanes South Family Bowling Center — Local services in Garner

No alcohol served is not the full picture. I was threatened with being kicked out by the owner’s son simply for bringing 2 beers from home and consuming them in a coozie, completely concealed, while I bowled. There is nothing posted at the entrance or on their website saying this is not allowed. It would make sense if I was causing a scene, but there was zero reason to confront me over it. Really disappointed in the way I was treated at this establishment. Pretty much any other alley is a better choice. They watch you like a hawk here, no thanks.

Update Nov 13, 2023: Was back at the alley last night. Clearly the owner’s son has read the review, as I was immediately labeled a ‘keyboard warrior’ by him. I proceeded to check in a few times with him to make sure I was following all rules and staying in line. As a result, I was confronted by a big guy claiming to be ‘Buffaloe security’ (no identification as such). He decided to get in my face and scream, while telling me to ‘watch out’. Is that a threat on my safety for writing an honest review and double checking to be sure I follow all the rules? The behavior of this ‘security guard’ was condoned and encouraged by the son. Disgusting.

Update Mar 2 2024: I have come to terms with the fact that I will never get an apology from the owner’s son. That said, I have been treated very well by all other members of the staff since the incident last fall. I also enjoy the people that I bowl in league with. So, notwithstanding how I was treated in the past by the 2 people mentioned previously, I feel that everyone else has treated me fairly since that time and am going to adjust my rating as such. Lastly, they have a new sign at the entrance stating ‘No Alcohol on Premises’. At least it has now...

We had a birthday party for my child last weekend here. We chose the strike package which included Bowling and arcades and the party room. The facilities are beautiful and clean and updated. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and our party hosts as well. I was blown away at how much was included in the package for such an amazing value. We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends and family for future events. Everyone had a great time and we were allowed to bring our own decorations but it’s really not necessary because they supply plenty. We also brought our own food and cake which again is not necessary because they have plenty of options and include two dozen cupcakes in the party package which is more than enough. I hardly ever leave reviews however our experience was such an amazing one that I felt it was way deserved!

I went Saturday night for the late night bowling, I will say I haven't tried other venues in awhile so I'm not sure how others compare. We made a good time of it, however the experience could have been better. I really appreciated that it felt/looked clean, there were plenty of balls and they took lane reservations over the phone. I know other places do a little more with their late night bowling such as glow in the dark, music, etc. However, this was very kid friendly for such late hours so I would probably do it again if I were to be with children. Also, I don't recall a bar so maybe that's why the environment seemed alot tamer for a Saturday late night. It could really be a great if they improved their food quality...
