I would love to give 5 stars but we didn’t even make it in the door.
My sister loves Carson Peters and she is handicapped. It took us a little over an hour to get to Carters Fold and we arrived an hour early to get her a good parking spot.
We got a great spot and backed all the way up to a water/wastewater lid that was in the ground.
As we were waiting to enter a female parking attendant asked us to back up farther, I did not want to park on the lid that also put us on a hill; I informed her we came early to get a good parking spot.
She was relentless so I agreed to back up the hill beside but but not over the water/wastewater lid.
As soon as I put my vehicle in park she placed a van in front of us…right where I had been parked!! The Male attendant yelled to us “y’all better be careful and don’t fall in that sewer!”
We left our home 2 1/2 hours early and drove for over an hour to see Carson just to not be able to go inside because we were told to park on a septic, up a hill, and couldn’t get my handicapped Sister in a position that she could enter the building. VERY RUDE...
Read moreOn May 13th the Carter Fold hosted a special mid-week concert for a group of over 100 Country Music fans from all over the UK and Ireland doing a musical tour of the US. The headliner of the show was the Fiddlin' Carson Peters Band, and we were excited to take my mother to the Fold. It has been a lot of fun watching now 11 year-old Carson Peters' talent growing before our eyes! He's gone from a guest musician on the Fold stage to an appearance at the Grand Old Opry to now headlining his own band in just the last year. His fiddle and guitar playing is so natural and free-flowing he can hold his own on stage with anyone else playing Bluegrass these days. Even though he is so young, he's well versed in his roots, acknowledging influences from Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash, Doc Watson, and The Carter Family. His vocals are as impressive as his fiddlin' and he just keeps getting better as a performer. It was a great night at The Fold, and an awesome opportunity to show off our local talent and hospitality to two busloads of fans from across...
Read moreOh wow, what can i say about this wonderful family oriented music and dancing. This is owned n operated by the family of the late June Carter Cash the wife of Johnny Cash. The show we went to was like 3 hours of great Bluegrass gospel and comedy. Over the many years of its existence many many famous country, gospel and others have graced the stage. I loved that so many ppl young n old were up clogging, square dancing etc. I would compare it closely with the Great ole GRAND OLE OPRY. Out of 10 i'd give Carter Family Fold a 15. Lol Meeting the owner ( the niece of June Carter Cash) was the highlight for us. Such a beautiful soul this lady has. Also it sits next to the Carter Family home and store of which u can tour free but please donate a lil for the upkeep and support this wonderful tradition. If i remember its $10 per person and kids get n free. I plan to go back soon. Plenty food...
