I actually found The Paddle Hut by accident — I was planning to go to another kayaking place, but they didn’t pick up the phone, so I quickly searched on Google and ended up here. Honestly, I’m so grateful they didn’t answer, because this turned out to be the best decision ever!

It was my very first time kayaking, and the owner was so kind — she even reduced the guide price to the rental price just for us. She’s incredibly friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about what she does. The whole experience was absolutely beautiful and peaceful — paddling through mangroves, open water, and seeing so much aquatic life up close was mesmerizing.

We just did the guided tour with Kristin, and it was magnificent. It’s absolutely beautiful and serene to begin with - blue green water (that’s clear) and lush green mangroves. Kristin was amazing at finding and pointing out so many different creatures in the water - sea stars, fish, two sharks (not scary - they’re small), Queen Conch (beautiful) and Milk Conch. The jellyfish garden was also incredible - one of a kind. We booked a 9 am tour and it ended up being just my friend and me, so we had our own private tour. This is totally worthwhile, and I’m so happy we booked this vs the tours that were closer in to Key West (and prob more crowded). What a fantastic experience throughout, Ali was awesome and answered all of our questions prior to booking she was extremely helpful and pleasant. We booked a 9am guided kayak tour on the 4th of July. Matt, our awesome tour guide and honorary Floridian, was extremely knowledgeable, patient and comforting to our 10 and 13 year old novice kayaking daughters. Despite a bit of rain Matt provided a great tour and showed us some great, quiet and unmolested areas of the lower keys. This was easily the highlight of our 7-day stay in Key West. Be sure to stay for lunch (awesome food, reasonably priced), and consider staying for a longer period in one of their RV rental areas, we're considering it for our next trip to the Keys.
