I bought tickets to Thursday’s Cooper Alan concert. In every form of communication about the concert, we were instructed to arrive early in order to alleviate congestion and crowded areas. With that being said, we drove almost 2 hours to get to the fairgrounds early. Upon arriving at 5 o’clock when gates were supposed to be open, we were told that gates were now no longer being opened until 5:45 as the stage wasn’t even set up. Concert was suppose to start at 7. Gates weren’t opened until 6:30 and at that point, the stage STILL wasn’t set up. They didn’t begin sound check until 7:10 and the actual concert itself didn’t start until close to 8:15. The organization of this event was absolutely pathetic. The concert ended up getting cancelled due to storms, which I do realize they cannot control the weather, however they could be gracious enough to offer some sort of compensation. I reached out to GCF by email, by comment section on Facebook, and by phone call to ask about a potential refund as driving 4 hours for a 45 minute show is a little ridiculous and GCF couldn’t be bothered to respond to me on any format. Not to mention, the food was overpriced and disappointing as well. Highly, Highly disappointed and dissatisfied by GCF. Plan to...
Read moreMy granddaughter and I went riding on Sunday after church the week after Labor Day. It was a picture perfect day and the equestrian trails were well groomed. I had emailed the Genesee County Parks last month to let them know there were trees down across the trail which for riders is no problem but we also drive the trails with our horse and carts. I was happy to see that the rangers had gotten right on the downed trees and had the trails cleared. GREAT JOB RANGERS! The only thing that saddens me is that camping for the Equestrian area is closed after Labor Day "THE BEST TIME TO HORSE CAMP"!!! Maybe if enough people complain, they would consider keeping them open until the end of October. Plenty of room to park, water is still on and port-a-johns are still available. Nice place to horseback...
Read moreWent there for my 3rd warrior dash. The warrior dash has jumped the shark. Attendance was down, obstacles were simplified and cheaper. They no longer offer smoked turkey legs. There was only one single concession stand to handle 10000 people, which was completely overwhelmed. Once we finally made it up there, they were out of half of the things they sell. For some strange reason they didn't accept cash!? What kind of Mickey mouse event has this turned into? It was our last trip there. Next year our party will go...
