Best Father’s Day I had was at the 2023 LeMons Race following the activity of the team my son Andy is a part of. He took me around , introduced me to all his friends in the paddock, which was well organized, in spite of the fact that this venue takes out all the ugliness normally associated with competitive events. A true testament to the track management and the racers many who are escapees from other more corporate type of events (bureaucratic, stringent rules that eliminate any artistic or technical expression, like communism). I hadn’t felt that good physically and mentally in a very long time. I’m 75, going on, “do not go gentle into the night” era. I needed this, really bad. I stayed at a golf resort, The Hawk, should be called “Heaven on Earth”. Had not hit a golf ball in six years because of some really awful knee surgeries (10, 4 knees) resulting in permanent partial disability. They let me hit a bucket, no charge, I can do it! Includes a made to order b-fast. Am I in heaven already? Nope. Everything is back to abnormal. LeMons at Gingerman is a site for any budget car racing fan. For $35 you can sit in the contestants tent and talk...

The grounds were very well manicured and the bathrooms were ALWAYS CLEAN. I forget the name of the young lady responsible for them but she was excellent.
The food was very good with vegetarian and healthy options available. Lots of fruit and strong coffee.
I had an incident on track and the safety crew was top knotch. Every person who aided me sought me out the next day to check on my family's and my well-being with genuine concern.
Stay with confidence. They are a...
Read moreBest track within towing distance of Detroit to shake down/tune a track car or for a novice driver to practice. Track is technical enough to develop skills, while having enough variety to feel out behavior on anything except large elevation changes. There's also tons of runoff and absolutely nothing to hit, so low risk for new drivers, new builds sorting out questionable tuning, or dual use daily drivers/track toys.
Staff is excellent - anybody who comes to the track quickly becomes part of the family.
Tasty concessions, gas matches gas station prices, newer garages, big air conditioned event center, and power outlets in the pits...
