I have been resaling at TC for many years. I shopped and resaled there before Dawn bought the shop and it was a much nicer experience. Having said that shopping at TC since Dawn took over has been a roller coaster ride, like anyone else she has her good days and her bad days. But unfortunately that’s not the most professional way to run a business. I agree with some reviews that the items downstairs are mostly garbage. She is very picky about what she’ll take in, often stating “only new items” or “item with tags.” Which by definition is not a resale shop.

My mom passed away in December and we had so many nice name brand clothes and shoes. Dawn told us over the phone she would only accept new items or items with tags, I was just too exhausted to argue with her so we donated it all to charity. Do yourself a favor skip TC and head over to LACAS Resale in the Tanger Outlet Mall. They have really nice stuff at good prices and it’s a worthy cause.

I found this metal (tin, actually) shelf hidden away, in an obscure corner of the store (which has the feel of an “employees only” storage area). Upon inquiring about it, I was told it would be 80% off ($9.00) to which I agreed upon when suddenly, she noticed the tag had it under the “furniture” category. Evidently, a hanging shelf (which is a fixture bc it “affixes” to the wall), shot up from $9.00 to $32.00 (which was non negotiable 😳!) I declined the purchase. THEN, we proceeded to ring up my other items which totaled $25 & a few cents. I had $23 & change OR I’d have to break $100 bill. Again, non negotiable 🙄. I refused & walked out on the sheer principle of the matter! Needless to say, they can keep the rickety old “metal” shelf (unassembled, btw) which had been sitting there since APRIL & was buried behind something else! They originally had the shabby old broken down TIN shelf (not even “metal”) marked at $42.00!!! Very very overpriced merchandise!! I had an awful experience as a first time person coming in with possible things to consign. The woman was rude and dismissive. She had no sensitivity to the fact that we had never done this before. I'm not sure how you can tell something is "too worn" by not looking at it. I saw plenty of things in the store that looked more worn to me (and would never buy), and wondered why you would agree to consign a taped up box of expired Mary Kay. We also got different direction from the person who we spoke to on the phone vs this person and vs the website. They are not consistent with messaging.
