I only played the front nine in the evening; and have played here before going back to the early 2000's. My overall impression of the course is that while a decent place to practice, the cost is just not in line with the general shape of the course, especially the greens on the front nine; two things stand out... when you play, you should have a fair chance at playing each hole, and not have to accommodate for the course. Example, hole 9 had large areas with no sod at all, and many of the greens felt like they were only about 40% grass, with the sub soil and sand showing through all over the green. I realize we've had a mild spring start and it takes the greens a while to think'n up, but the greens right now, are just awful and they seem to always be this way. For this, I recommend tempering expectations on the greens until the grass fills in. Also, sand traps are not actually sand, mostly compacted or loose dirt not sand, so hitting traditional bunker shots may be challenging as well. This might be a good place to to go if you are wanting to knock the ball around and have a good time with some friends on the golf course, but temper expectations, because thats about all it's going to be. Wide fairways on some of the longer holes is a plus, grass around the greens is pretty decent, fairways are playable, but If you play here, focus on practicing iron play, and short game approach shots. Putting will be challenge at best. Lastly, the prices on the website, are not what we were charged the day we went and played, site looks static, so they may not have updated it to match current pricing at the counter. Attention to details like this seem to be a pattern at...
Read moreFirst off let me say that the course is in excellent condition. The fairways are well groomed and the greens are fast. The reason for only three stars is poor course time management. For the second time this year, I've had the displeasure of being basically pushed down the course for an entire round as the ranger states they have the group stacked up behind us. That being said, let me explain that neither myself nor the three other people I routinely play with play slow. Our foursome regularly finish 18 in approximately 4 hrs. A fair time for a round as course average should be no more than 15 min a hole. However, on Tuesday mornings there is apparently a men's group that regularly plays. This group in it entirety plays from the red tees. That's playing roughly 1000 yds less than playing from the white tees. I have no greivence with this group or what tees they elect to play from. I do however not appreciate being sent out in front of them and then feeling like I'm being rushed. In my opinion, they should simply block out a time for the afore mentioned group on Tuesday. And not allow for tee times in front of them. I would play here again but never again will It be a Tuesday morning. My hope and intent is not to bash this course as it is a nice course. But rather that the staff and or management see this review and attempt to improve on the way tee times involving groups are structured. I realize that large groups can generate significant revenue. However, the other people on the course paid to be there as well and should be treated with the same courtesy...
Read moreI want to start by saying this course is a good layout and well kept. I believe it is a good value for the cost and would encourage people to play here at least once. However, please be aware this course does not post all of their prices and the staff are not always clear in communicating. I played 18 in the morning and upon completion of my round I inquired about a replay. I was not satisfied with the price to ride again so I asked could I continue to walk since I paid my green fees with the first round. I was told " if that is what you want to do" I said yes when can I tee off. I was told 2pm. I did go off early when a tee time didn't show up and never held up play and had a great time. Upon returning to the parking lot, I was stopped by another staff member and asked if I paid for walking 9. I said no and relayed what I was told earlier, and the response was no, you were never told that. I then asked are green fees not a daily price here? The response was we don't do that here. I asked if that was posted anywhere just so I could know in the future. The reply was we don't post our prices. I was then asked for 18 dollars for walking 9 holes. The man took my 20 and left no change was returned. I do hope this was just 1 poor experience and I hope no one else experience anything like this here. The rangers were very...
