Our experience with Chef Joe Henderek was wonderful and we would happily have him in our home again! This was our first time trying a private chef, so we weren't sure how it would go, but from start to finish everything was great. We communicated several times prior to the date, both by email and phone, to choose a good menu. There were so many tempting choices! On our date Joe showed up right on time and explained what we could expect for the dinner experience. We had chosen an arugula salad to start, a French onion soup appetizer and black cod with miso for the main course. For dessert we shared cheesecake and a decadent chocolate mousse cake. All of the dishes were beautifully presented and exceptionally delicious. It was like having a gourmet restaurant experience at home! We had the best experience with Chef Joe! He cooked an incredible dinner for our mother/daughter girls night at an air bnb in Hudson, NY. We started with a fresh frisée salad with lardons, followed by duck and brussels sprouts that were absolute perfection (and very unique and so delicious in how they were prepared), and ended the meal with the most delicious lemon crème brûlée (he told us the lemons were fresh from Italy!). Everything was restaurant-quality (honestly, even better), and he made the whole evening so much fun. He’s personable, funny, and made us feel totally comfortable hanging out in the kitchen with him while he cooked. We hired Joe to cook for 4 nights for our once-in-a-lifetime family reunion in the Berkshires. I am a foodie and have also worked in professional kitchens. Joe was fantastic. His food is delicious, gorgeous, and he was able to accommodate multiple dietary preferences and allergies with absolute style. At the end of our time together he also let us know he offers classes and he came back the next day to teach us how to make pasta. We made handmade tagliatelle. The last photo here is the result!
