Dollar General — Local services in Gilmer

Was nice when it first opened. But has significantly gone down in quality. I stop here for emergency stuff only. But, it's hardly worth the trouble anymore. None of the self checkout is in use anymore. Only one person in the store. Long line at the register. All the registers covered in dirt. Half the shelves empty, but the infamous carts of stock making it difficult to get down any aisle. None of these issues are anything to blame workers for. This is a corporate issue. I was SO very glad to see this DG! There were no other grocery stores for miles and we just checked in to the nearby room for the night. Dollar General was open until 10pm and they had everything I needed to have food for the kids for the night and the morning. The gentleman working there was really friendly too, which was even more pleasing as I was in dark roads and unfamiliar territory.
