Mason Farms Roadside Farm Market — Local services in Girard Township

Bought 1 bushel of green beans at mason farms in Girard today. Paid $20. Worker said that they were picked Saturday and they were kept refrigerated. Didn't get a look at them before he dumped them in a large plastic bag. When I got home about a hour later and got them out of the bag to snip, I was very upset. Not only were the beans very overripe, but many of them were rotted at the ends. Tasted a few of them and they were strong tasting, not at all like a green string bean should taste. The Edinboro stand always has poor quality strawberries for the SAME price! So, I drove to the main farm. The berries looked better, but the man at the stand didn't want to be bothered! I stood there while he spoke to someone he knew. Then he just looked at me! I asked if I could purchase these. He said yes, and I had to ask how much as I stood there with cash in my hand. Every year my family and I make homemade grape juice. This year we tried a new farm for our grapes. Mason Farms gave us the opportunity to pick our own, which was a blast. The price was also amazing. The kids enjoyed the activity and learned something new. The employees were very helpful and kind. They even gave the kiddos small pumpkins to paint.
