Played this course (only did 9 holes) Thursday. The staff and the facility were all top notch. Price was excellent. Carts and amenities provided were terrific. I am 82 with the usual aches and pains associated with age. I used to walk, sometimes 2 rounds in a day, but cannot anymore. I play at my home course (Heartland) to a 80-85. I was told by a friend who had played this course that the greens played very fast, so I got there early, and putted on the huge putting green for about 30 minutes. I swear, during that time I never made, or came tap-in close, on more than one attempt from 80' down to 10'. The slopes and speed was like putting on a tilted pool table. I had hoped the actual greens would be easier. They were not. Anything on the green more than 10' away was a "please don't three putt" wish. Even the 4' putts were a challenge (I missed 4 of those). The other guys in my group, two of whom are better putters than I am struggled just as I did. Enough on that. The fairways were immaculate. The aprons and fringes were so nice I actually putted rather than chipping on some shots. The rough, or really penalty type areas, were just that. I hit the ball short, but straight (fairway), and I put no balls into that stuff, but others in my group, and our second foursome playing behind us, spent numerous unsuccessful excursions into those areas, despite the generous width of most of the fairways. There were traps, but I avoided those, although one of our group hit several, and did poorly from them. (no comment on their condition from me). The hills and valleys of the layout, and some blind or nearly blind approach shots were very deceptive, so a GPS range finder is a good investment. I would recommend a handicap flag if walking hills and distances is a problem. (In retrospect I wish I had gotten one.) Distances between the greens and their parking areas, plus the slopes and huge greens with same can stress the lower extremities. I was aching and exhausted by nine, so I ended there. (A man's got to know his limitations.) Hardest hole I played was a 200 yard uphill par 3. The green was about 40 yards elevated from the tee area. I hit it about 175 and the trudge up to the green from there was tough. In summary, the course, at least the front nine I played, was a challenging layout, made really difficult by the speed and slopes of the greens. I carded a 47 with 1 birdie putt and 3 par putts of four feet that were all missed, or lipped out. Having played that nine once I think I could now make better shot placements off some of the tees and where to try to leave shots on approaches into the pins. I would definitely recommend this course to those in good shape. I also think better signage from off I-65 exit 48 to guide one to the course would...

I really want to give this place a solid 5 stars but at this moment I just can’t. I’ll get the negative out of the way first because there’s not much. The verdict from the group I played with all concluded that the food at the clubhouse just isn’t very good. The Mammoth Grille tries a little too hard to make some boujee options that just don’t hit the mark. Such as the Mammoth Dog that would be great if it weren’t served on literally the largest hoagie roll you’d ever seen, or the turkey sandwich or wrap where the turkey is somehow just awful. The merch at Park Mammoth is great but just not my taste with only having their logo stitched on the arm of everything and nothing on the chest. My whole group normally buys polos and hats but all just settled for hats because we just didn’t vibe with the shoulder logos. Lastly there are currently no markers on the holes to tell you the hole and yardages (I’m sure that’ll come later as they’re currently still adding to the course). Those are simply the ONLY things negative about this course.

Your tee time includes range time and balls, the carts come preloaded with ice for both coolers on board, rain covers for your bags if it’s raining and the comfiest seats I’ve sat on at any public course I’ve ever played. The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, hazards and greens are all pristine even as fall is here. A short, yet challenging course that will test you and your game. You’ve never played a more quiet and peaceful course in your life I can almost promise you that. The clubhouse is immaculate and a killer place to hangout before or after your round with your friends. Plenty of amazing seating outside to just sit, drink a beer and enjoy the beauty that is Park Mammoth.

We will without a doubt be back as often as we can. We just might bring...

Played the Little Mammoth par 3. Uniqueness: You get a “range cart” to get there(it’s not walking distance from check in), but you park it and leave it between the driving range and 1st hole of the par 3. Free access to the driving range, putting green, and chipping green. They also provide a free “Sunday bag” (the red one in photo) for you to not have to carry your full bag or clubs. I brought my own, which in glad I did because there isn’t much to those red ones. But hey, it’s a nice free option. Condition: Course was in great shape, tee boxes were good, fairways were fantastic, greens were huge and didn’t see any bad spots. Top tier shape even after a very hot/dry July. Difficultly: it’s a par 3 course, holes are between 85-125yards. Few bunkers, but lots of undulation on greens. If you don’t pin seek, you’ll be fine because missing on certain sides of the greens can be detrimental. Play it safe and it’s easy. I’d say 6/10 difficultly for a par 3. Pace: it’s probably the busiest day of the year for golf and this par 3 was wide open. A couple young golfers, but that’s part of playing on short courses. All in all, great pace. Cost: We drove up from Nashville specifically for this Par 3 course, was well worth it. Was $25/person. Would love to play at the 18 hole at some point too, but this was a great sample. Clubhouse: super super helpful and friendly staff. Met us in the parking lot and brought us a cart. Clubhouse was gorgeous and a great place for a post round brew and eat. The starter was a friendly guy and gave us...

This was my first time playing Park Mammoth and it has a mixed review from me. I’ll start with the positives first. I thought the course was in great shape and well maintained. The views on the course were great with the big hills and rolling terrain the course sits on. Everyone on the staff I talked to was nice and helpful. I found the course to be playable for golfers of all skill levels. Now for some negatives. I played on a weekend in July and the cost was $120. I found this to be a bit excessive for what the course offered. To start, the course was only 6,200 yds from the tips. So if you hit the ball 280+ it’s basically a driver, wedge, and putter course. Most of the yardage comes from the two par 3’s that play over 200 yds. Most of the fairways were like runways and didn’t really present much challenges. Unfortunately they had experienced a lot of rain/heat then so the greens were soft and slow. I would imagine they would be difficult during a different time of year though. It was 95 degrees and humid when I played and there was no water jugs on the course. Would think with the $120 price tag they would supply some hose water on the course for you. They supplied u with a bottle water at the start but that was all. Outside of the terrain of the property, I thought the course lacked in design. It didn’t really require a variety of shots. Was pretty much just bomb driver and grab one of your wedges. I did enjoy playing the course for the first time, but it didn’t leave me dying to come back to play it.
