Extremely disappointed overall. Went in a few weeks ago to get a lower cerakoted. I brought it in with a buffer tube. Simple one color jobs. After waiting to pick up for an extra week (computer issues, understandable) pick up the item. Upon initial inspection it seems to look good. There was a bit of dry spray (if unfamiliar, search dry spray cerakote). It looked minimal and wasn't going to ask for a re do. Until I get home. The entire inside of the mag well feels like sandpaper. After functions checking with less than two magazine the sandpaper like dry spray is wearing off already. It literally feels like the outside of a B5 systems grip. And on a Lewis Machine and Tool lower. They have a good selection. But I wont ever be back there for work on anything. See the milling examples they do on other people's reviews. Also kind of weird no one responded totally jacking that dudes slide up by overmilling, but every other post has a thanks. Take my advice, go to Rhev in Ellensburg. Search dry spray cerakote and here is your prime example. Picked it up YESTERDAY. Look at the small pieces of cloth that ripped off from a silicone rag. I could care less about the outside dry spray (see pic 2) but now I have to have this redone because in essence my mag well is coated in sandpaper. Pic two upper is what a good job looks like. Lower is done from the range. You decide. * In response to owner. Dude imagine bringing in a knights or lmt or larue lower to be done in one single color. Just one. Simplest job ever. Litterally the most basic one can get. And I stripped it for you. So now the last high end lower I have gets to get trigger pins drove out again, sandblasted again and put back together again. Aluminum loves that dude. Guys in the shop I brought in into to get fixed just laughed. Ridiculous.

The range drilled through my slide while mounting a holosun onto my .45. In addition to this when I went to shoot my gun after I got it back my gun would not chamber a round. Took it back to the range and was told that they forgot to reinstall the striker rebound spring, and it was now lost and a new spring had to be reordered. When I went in to pick up my .45, for the second time after the spring was reinstalled, I also purchased a holosun for my 9mm. I asked if there was any deal I could maybe get for the whole issue with everything and was told that my deal was a work order that was free. Well I’d hope a business would fix something they messed up. Overall this was just a rough experience and left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately I’ll never be doing business with this place because of this experience. Leaving this review so people know that the range isn’t perfect. When things go wrong they won’t try and make you feel comfortable either.

Was at The Range for the first time in a couple years and all I can say is that it’s better than ever. From checkin to range officer, it was a 110% top notch experience. I had a blast while knowing I was in a safe and regulated range. Fellow shooters were super cool and it was so much much fun to swap tips or configurations. I’m gonna be back a heck of a lot more often. Thanks The Range!!

I’d like to begin this review with a bit of an apology. I meant to write this review after our visit, but it slipped my mind until recently. I hope the words below make up for it.

My partner and I visited The Range in August of 2022. A couple of Brits who were doing a summer road trip through Washington and Oregon. I’ve always been interested in firearms and shooting, but here in the UK the shooting community is small and not very easy to get into without being introduced by someone already familiar with all of its legal peculiarities. My partner had no real interest whatsoever, but I’ll come back to that shortly. Visiting a shooting range on the trip was one of my bucket list items, so I looked at our route and searched around, comparing a few options. I was drawn to The Range due to how professional it looked, the facilities looked top notch, and it was evident that it was run with pride. Naturally I had lots of questions about stopping by, and I reached out to them via email. Shortly, I got a very enthusiastic and detailed response from the owner Austin, which sealed the deal.

While I was super excited to visit, my partner was still a bit apprehensive. When we finally stepped through the door and introduced ourselves, that apprehension was quickly replaced by a respect for just how friendly, welcoming and professional the team at The Range are. Mr Lamb behind the rental counter took care of every question we could ask, he walked us through all of the safety information and really made us feel looked after. Neither of us had ever shot a live firearm before, and his recommendations on where to start were greatly appreciated.

From that point on I was in full ‘kid in a candy shop mode’, rapidly pointing at which ones I wanted to try next. All of the staff behind the rental counter were incredibly patient answering my questions and making recommendations to maximise the enjoyment of the time we had on the range.

When the time came to end our visit, the staff at The Range yet again showed why this place should be at the top of your list if you’re looking for a shooting experience. I’d been eying some cool stickers on the desk, and I wanted a memento of our visit so I asked how much they were. From behind the desk, Mr Lamb produced 2 goody bags filled with stickers and other Range merch. I cannot put across how much we both enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish. I would happily have paid double our final bill for the sheer quality and customer care that we were shown during that visit. I genuinely cannot think of a single thing that would have made the visit any better.

On a personal note, this experience really confirmed for me that I wanted to pick up the shooting sports when I got home. Shortly after returning to the UK, I found a local shooting club and joined, and I've not looked back since. The team at The Range have helped me find a hobby that I truly enjoy and will hopefully continue to enjoy for years to come. Truly, thank you.

One final thing, the entire trip was so amazing that we’re coming back for another road trip in August 2023, and I’ve managed to influence our route to come through Yakima. I can’t wait to get back to The...

This place is awesome!!! I was impressed from the moment I walked into their facility.

I am a firearms instructor out of King County. I am leading with that, but it will make sense towards the end.

I was able to make reservations with Chelsea to rent a bay to conduct some training. She was extremely helpful and had great communication.

When I arrived, I was impressed with the amount of parking... and do they need it. It gets very busy and for very good reason(s).

You have to walk through the store front to get to the range.

Walking in, there is a barista counter (w/ seating) immediately to your right. Nobody had been occupying it at the time, but it is obviously an amenity that is available.

The store front was immaculate and very well organized. An ocean of parts and accessories sectioned out by platforms. Their displays and selection of firearms, were even more impressive.

Over on the range side, the awesomeness continues. The check-in process is so systematic. Me, and a few of the students had never been there before so we had to watch a 15-20 minute firearm safety video. They had tables and seating available, and red The Range pens for you to use to fill out your waivers. The pens are a courtesy IF you decided to keep it. I got one. THANK YOU!!! The waiver is required annually so if you've done it once, you're good for a year. We enter the range and there was a Range Safety Officer (RSO) who gave us an additional briefing specific to the shooting bay. He was readily available to assist with any of our questions. One of the things that really impressed me, was their use of two-way radios. You're probably thinking, "big deal." It can be though. The front of the range was able to communicate with the RSO, and vice versa WITHOUT The need to vacate the range. This keeps an RSO on the range side at all times. Now you get it?

The individual lanes are plenty spacious. The track system goes out to an impressive 33 yds, with easily identifiable markings for 3yrds, 5yrds, 7yrds, 10yrds, 12yrds, 15yrds, 20yrds and 25yrds. Great lighting too.

As if this all of this wasn't enough, the icing on the cake is the staff. If you have a great facility and the staff is egotistical or condescending, it deducts from the overall business and the customer's experience.

The staff were friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and informative. I cannot say enough great things about this establishment. I'm confident you'll enjoy your experience as much as I did... if not more.

Note: Be sure to grab one of their FREE cool stickers on the way in/out.

You're...

I recently purchased a firearm and had it shipped to The Range. It arrived at The Range on june 24th. After I received confirmation the firearm was delivered. I contacted the range and asked if i could come in and fill out paperwork. I was told that it takes several days for the staff at the range to input the firearm into thier system, the staff member that I spoke with was rude and condesending toward me. When I asked why it would be several days to input the firearm. Ultimately I decided to wait the remaining part of the day and check the next day on june 25th. I called on june 25th around 12:30 and to my surprise again I, was told they had not input the firearm in the system and i couldn't complete any paperwork or pay the transfer fee until that had been completed. I again decided to wait until the next day on June 26th. I called on june 26th at 11:00 and was told again they hadn't input the firearm into thier system. At this I asked to speak with the owner of the range. I was told he wasn't there but he would be returning around 1pm. I asked the staff to ask if the owner would contact me when he arrived. After waiting until about 2pm and still not receiving a call back, I decided to call again. Shockingly I there was no progress on my firearm. About 3pm I finally was contacted and told I could come in and fill out the paperwork. When I arrived and started doing paperwork I was informed the transfer fee was 45.00 dollars, thats almost double the price for other gun stores in the area.

So If you don't mind being treated rudely and waiting for thier staff while they drag thier feet and pay nearly double the going rate of a transfer fee. By all means do your business with THE RANGE. If not, I recommend any other gun store in town. Personally after this experience if they were the only gun store in town I would go to another county to transfers or purchase a new firearm. I seen on here when looking at other reviews they aren't many negative reviews. The one I did notice seems to have very promtly refuted by the owner or range staff, perhaps if they spent as much attention into speaking respectfully to thier customers and getting back to them in a timely manner, they wouldn't need to immediately refute a negative review

Updated 7-10-2020

I appreciate the prompt response to the review and that you addressed one of three complaints. However the other two complaints still need to be addressed. Rudeness and condesending nature of staff and the nearly double price or 100 percent mark up of a...
