Westwood Catering — Local services in Glendale

Westwood Catering & Deli is right down the road from our house and we always see people dining outside, so we decided to stop by and get a sandwich before we headed home.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything remarkable about our experience. The deli was… charming, but very, very old. There didn’t seem to be AC and the box fans were not really doing much. We ordered our food to-go after seeing the inside.

I ordered the Monty sandwich, a toasted roast beef sandwich with salami as well. The meat tasted rather low-quality and the sandwich was overly chewy. My mom’s Westwood Sandwich, a chicken salad on croissant, was slightly better but nothing to write home about.

Westwood catered our wedding, and they were absolutely wonderful. We did the stations - stir fry, mac n cheese/mashed potato bar, and an hors d’oeuvres station. All were great! I personally loved the mac n cheese/mashed potato bar. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The stir fry received several compliments from our guests, was tons of fun, and could accommodate various dietary restrictions. Our guests more accustomed to more traditional weddings were well served by the hors d’oeuvres station which had delicious brisket, bacon wrapped scallops, tarts, salad, and crab cakes, which were all great as well. Westwood Catering and Suzie saved the day and stepped in 5 weeks before my wedding when my original caterer fell through. Suzie and her staff did a fantastic job on the food and the service during the reception. She did a great job of customizing the menu based on our wishes and I heard nothing but good comments about the food - especially the goulash and salad.
