A really underrated route. Drove up route 39 all the way to the top and the view was amazing up and down. Sadly the rest of 39 that bridges to route 2 was closed at the very top so I had to turn around. Just wished I had a car with gears to engine brake going down instead of using the brakes a lot on a cvt. It's a long drive, about 20 miles up the mountains but worth it.

Very beautiful park. Never would have thought in a million years there was such a peaceful and scenic place so close to the Los Angeles Metro area. It was only 1 1/2-2 hour drive from Anaheim.

Sadly the rest of 39 that bridges to route 2 was closed at the very top so I had to turn around. Just wished I had a car with gears to engine brake going down instead of using the brakes a lot on a cvt. It's a long drive, about 20 miles up the mountains but worth it.

Very beautiful park. Never would have thought in a million years there was such a peaceful and scenic place so close to the Los Angeles Metro area. It was only 1 1/2-2 hour drive from Anaheim.

This is one of my best places to go meditate and forget about the city life.. lots of hidden trails, water creeks, rivers and Crystal lake. It's best to go on weekdays if you want to be alone. There's one mini store ay Crystal Lake if you get hungry or thirsty and why not a hot coffee or...
