They have built a new DG on hwy 49. It's all automated. No live cashiers. It's all self check out. I'm going to go ahead and warn you. If you make a mistake don't expect an employee to come running when you ask for assistance from your part time cashier's job. I tried and all I got was lonely. If I do see an employee while I'm there it's generally outside smoking. I realize they don't pay much but since they don't do much it seems to be a good swap . But kudos to DG they make you check out your self because that way you can't complain about the prices that don't match the shelves and the ones they claim are on sale only to find out at your register that they sure as hell didn't ring up the sale price. I'm thinking I'll just push this "need assistance" button and somebody will come to fix this miscarriage of justice. 15 minutes later and call from your supervisor in the car asking what in the Hell is taking so long to buy dogfood. I give up and leave passing a walking cigarette coming in the door .I started to complain but it's like a fart in a whirlwind to complain to an employee that doesn't care and is only interested in getting home to the next big reality show. DG has very poor pricing habits and every day they over charge people and most won't say a word if they catch the mistake. How much money do they take in daily through dishonest pricing every day. They probably have already started building them on the moon. You can't throw a rock without hitting one. And don't tell me that it's because of digital coupons. It's been tried by me and it's hit or miss. The receipts are confusing the way they are laid out. If you have 5 bucks off it's spread out over several items and it's like that game where you guess which cup your money is under. And like that game you are going to lose. I usually have the receipt to make it easily corrected this time nothing on the right side of the receipt printed. No $ amounts at all was on the receipt. I was told there’s nothing that could be done except refund it all an start over. My water an ice was already in the cooler so couldn’t bring it back. Employees wouldn’t let us get a cart an pick up the exact stuff again out of the store to see what it rings up to so they could refund me the difference. Usually, however today I saw an elderly woman being disrespected by a worker because she needed help putting her water in her cart and the lady at the register showed anger and didn’t help. Then while at the register I politely said “hi how are you” just to get a mean look with no response. While I am checking out the worker notices sugar still in a bag that the elderly lady forgot to grab (because she had to get her groceries with no help) and the worker yelled at her in a very rude way to come back and get her sugar.
