I was not planning on leaving a review, but I did not have a particular good experience here. I was having trouble starting my motorcycle which is 2006 yamaha vstar 650. It would not start or stay running, so I went ahead and changed the stator and rectifier, and the battery and spark plugs. Put a new air filter on. Still nothing. So I bit the bullet and decided to bring it to a shop. The only one around me that was close was light speed motorsports. I have brought my bike here previously for an oil change and just general mantianice. I thought I'll let them see if they could figure out the issue. So after a week at the shop the parts guy messages me saying it needs a CDI Box which is around 270 bucks. Went ahead and bought it. They put it on and still nothing. So the parts guy messages me saying that the wiring harness was butchered. Which i thought was werid because im the only one that has been working on it and I know for a fact that nothing was wrong with the wiring. Went up there to see what the problem is with the wiring and nothing was wrong. They did not want to tell me that the tech that was working on my bike did not know what to do. So he suggested a service manual booklet so he could know what exactly to do next. I thought that was very strange when the shops website says they work on kawaski, Suzuki, and yamaha motorcycles. Went ahead and got him the book. I was starting to feel alittle stupid for bringing my bike here. So the parts guy said I needed a relay assembly. Another 53 bucks went ahead and bought it. Still nothing. So I started to get alittle discouraged but I still had some faith that they would find a way to fix it. So the parts guy messaged saying they opened up the crankcase to look at the stater and said the pick up coil was just floating around in there. So I went ahead a bought a pick up coil luckily I found a cheap one for 20 bucks. Didn't hear anything from them for a week and half so I messaged the parts guy and asked for any update on my bike. He said the tech working on it is on vacation. Wasn't going to be back until next week. So whatever I waited it out. So the parts guy messages me saying I need a gasket and clamp so I ordered them so another 55 bucks. Brought the parts up to the shop. Said here is the parts and the parts guy said we might not even need them. So i bought them for no reason at all. After this I said I cant keep my bike here. It's pointless they don't have a clue how to fix my bike. So I finally messaged the parts guy saying look I'm coming to pick my bike up. Don't do anything else to it. I'll pay for what yall did so far which to me was really nothing my bike still did not start. So long story short I was charged 401 dollars for labor and they did absolutely nothing to fix my bike which has been sitting up there for 3 months. Also on top of all that when i came to pick up my bike they did not even reassemble it like they said they would. So the parts and labor cost me around 800 dollars for absolutely nothing. I do not at all recommend coming here if you want your bike worked on. There abunch of crooks. They will straight up lie to your face. I literally had to call the cops on these people to get my bike back and they still charged me. Sad excuse for a business. This is a...
Read moreHas to be among one of the worst businesses in this area. If any of the following is what you’re looking for then this is the place for you. Look no further! Journey begins with this bike being taken in for a known fuel issue. Long story short approx 5 months after much frustration with poor communication and lack of knowledge and effort put forth by lightspeed it was requested that the bike be returned to owner. The bike has not only not been fixed but has actually been damaged further with cut wire harness, hoses etc and returned in pieces in this manner. Owner was charged $800 for this. Only after leaving a bad review, the owner was contacted by Lightspeed and offered for the bike to be picked up and fixed compeltely on their behalf. After a few weeks the bike was finally picked up and work began on the bike. 2 months went by before the bike was back together however was still not in working condition . This is where communication began to lack and after another month of waiting we decided to go pick the bike up as no progress was being made and light speed obviously was not interested in going any further. After arriving at light speed and waiting a good 30 minutes before even being acknowledged we requested the bike be brought to the front for pickup and were also told that the bike was in tact. Approx 15 minutes go by and 2 managers and tech walkout only to tell us that an additional amount is owed before the bike can be released. Unfortunately things did get heated after this as this was completely unexpected and was never communicated clearly that any responsibility was now on the owner. After having the cops come out and continuing to deal with the unprofessional staff we decided to pay just to get the bike out. At this point they begin to bring the bike out and is indeed not assembled which makes this transaction completely invalid and the original statement that it is intact false. To summarize this business will go lengths to collect a few dollars rather than stand behind or guarantee their work or uphold or value their reputation instead. The whole situation was a complete waste of time and even though I am not the owner of the bike I did contribute my time and money in this matter and witnesses every step of it from the beginning. Lightspeed has lost my business as long as it is run under this current management. As someone that has been in hvac service business over 10 years I have never and will never charge anyone for a job that I go on and I can’t fix the product. It is unethical and makes for very bad business reputation and as far as I’m concerned word of mouth is the best way to grow in community. This business has a lot to learn. Pictures are current condition the bike was...
Read moreBought 2 bikes on the same day. Love this place. If I'm looking for a new toy, I come here. Never had better service, except for maybe "WaffleHouse." God bless WH people. BUT,something happened when their was a change in Ownership/Management. I have bought my last 5 bikes from them in the last 3 to 4 years with zero issues. It seems at that time they honored "Customer Service". WELL things change. I bought a 2013 HD SportsterXL 72 in excellent condition with only 7000 on the clock. Happy and excited I took delivery. However, this is when things changed. The 72 had poured 2.2 gallons of gas on my garage floor overnight. Sol, a 2013 with only 7k on the clock, Fuel delivery problems from sitting in the garage for years. UNDERSTANDABLE. They "fixed" it and called, your bike is ready. I trailored the bike straight to my Harley mechanic that day and had a proper 110 point inspection done. WELL, my licensed HD mechanic of 32+ years, found 10 redflag issues that were missed by Lightspeed Motorsports techs??? I brought this to the attention of Owner/management. They showed no concerne¿¿¿ Fk it fix it myself because at this point, I don't trust their service techs. Ok. On to bike 2 that I bought the same day. 2023 Klx230R Bought this bike because the Klx230R is a tank! Tailored it home, unloaded, and took the bike down the street to the store, maybe 1/4 mile "Loosely" . The bike almost put me in the ditch. ¿?¿WTF¿?¿. 3rd or 4th gear it was walking itself off the road. Back to my garage. 1st thing thought was rear-end. Chain had way too much slack per Kawasaki's online manual. While inspecting the chain, I found that the rear rim assembly was the problem. At that point I snugged all adjustment bolts and nuts down and put it on the trailer, and brought it back to LSM. MANAGEMENT assured me this would be taken care of. Especially since I am a 5 time player at this point. NOPE. One of the 2 "Owners" said that we were at "ODDS" on the rear wheel issue. He said I tightened the chain TOO much, and that is what caused the wheel to warp "To the point it wanted to hit the ditch own it's own". OK, SAME THING. Fk it, fix it myself. I brought this to the attention off the attention of the co-owner. AGAIN, NO SYMPATHY!!! THAT BEING SAID.... They put the expense of "DIRTY BUISINESS" on ME.... Gamble if you want, BUT the odds are against you at "LIGHTSPEEDMOTORSPORTS". GOD BLESS AMERICA and Shame...
