Starfish Project — Local services in Goshen

I have associated with Starfish Project for several years, starting with a business trip to Beijing, where I learned of the amazing work they do through 'social enterprise'. I have since started developing/volunteering in similar works, and of course, continue to donate to Starfish, and more importantly - Buy their Jewelry!!!

I buy pieces for my Bride, my several daughters, and occasionally as gifts for others!!! They always love the pieces I give them, showing my Husband's/Father's love and care for them in this tangible way. They also say they think of the women who designed, made, and successfully marketed their pieces to bring the jewelry to them personally. To me, this is huge, because it sets their hearts on higher purposes. Higher purpose to be industrious themselves, and to seek industriousness that helps others in the process. It also keeps them mindful that there is evil 'out there' to be careful about, but that goodness always overcomes evil and the fear that goes with it, whenever goodness is applied in the right way.

Carry on Starfish community!! You shine the light into the darkness and what you do matters to each individual 'starfish' that gets picked up and put back into the life-giving water where it belongs!!!

I love this place. Beautiful peices that support a great cause. I have a Biyu bracelet; it's well-made, comfortable, and a splash of color for almost any outfit. Everything was packaged beautifully. I gifted a necklace and the recipient loved it, even more so with the postcards explaining what Starfish Project is all about.

Starfish Project is a powerful reminder that where we put our money does matter. For me, it's been part of realizing how much un-fair trade there is in the world, and how as a consumer, I am often unwittingly supporting explotive companies that pay their workers pennies on the dollar in oppressive conditions. I've loved all the pieces I've bought from them! They make great gifts for my girlfriends, and I love knowing that I am supporting a business that helps women better their lives and find a family where they work. My favorite thing I've bought so far are the Caroline Navy earrings. They are so cute, and I love the fringe! You could even wear the fringe with other studs you own, so it's really a great piece!
