My visit to Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates with my twin teenage daughters was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene beauty of the farm and the genuine care given to the cows. As we wandered around, we were lucky enough to witness a heartwarming momentâan adorable baby cow, just one day old, alongside its mother. It was a joyous sight that perfectly set the tone for our day.
The highlight of our visit, however, was undoubtedly the milk chocolate from Milk House Chocolates. I must say, it was the best milk chocolate I have ever tasted. The flavor was incredibly pure and exquisite, a testament to the beautiful and healthy cows that provide the milk. It's remarkable how the Thorn family's dedication to creating a sustainable and friendly environment for their cows translates into such a delightful chocolate experience. And to complement the chocolates, we indulged in the farm's delicious milk, which was equally exceptional.
I must give a special mention to my daughters, who declared that they had tasted the best chocolate in all of Connecticut. They were enamored by the rich and fine quality of the chocolate, knowing that it came from these well-fed and happy cows. As a parent, it brought me immense joy to see them savoring such a delectable treat and appreciating the connection between the source of the ingredients and the end product.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the owners of Thorncrest Farm for allowing us to capture the essence of the farm with our cameras. We were able to take beautiful and wonderful photos, particularly of the cute baby calf. It was a day filled with precious memories and a perfect way to celebrate Father's Day with my daughters.
Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates truly exceeded my expectations. The meticulous attention given to the comfort and happiness of the cows is reflected in the exceptional quality of their milk and chocolates. Kimberly Thorn's expertise in crafting artisanal chocolates is on par with the greatest chocolatiers in Europe. The chocolates themselves are a testament to the unique flavors and characteristics of each cow's milk, making every bite a truly special experience.
I can't recommend Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates enough. It is a local gem that combines the freshest ingredients, attention to detail, and a passion for creating extraordinary chocolates. If you appreciate the purest flavors and want to support a family farm that truly cares for its cows and products, I urge you to visit Thorncrest Farm and indulge in the delightful creations of Milk House...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I drove up from Washington D.C. for a little weekend get away with some CT friends of ours. That morning they decided to take us to Thorncrest Farms to buy some chocolates and see the âhappy cowsâ. We started off buying the chocolate with the help of two very nice girls Hope and Kate. They were enthusiastic and patient while we made our selections. Iâm a sucker for good customer service and they are top notch nice. After, we headed to the barn to see the âhappy cowsâ and boy were they happy. I have never seen farm animals be treated like such family. Clint and Kim have it down to a science. Better yet, an art. In fact, Clint revealed to us that when Kim makes her chocolate she see flavors as musical notes. Well let me tell you, those chocolates are the sweetest symphony Iâve ever tasted. Now, back to the cows. They really are treated as well as family. Clint and Kim care for their cows like each of them is their new born child. Did you know that the average North American cow lives up to five years? Well, Clint and Kimâs cows RETIRE at around 13.5 years. Some even live to see their 20âs. Imagine! A cow that can smoke, drink and vote! Now thatâs what I like to see. Anywhoser, Clint and Kims operation is inspirational and their passion is contagious. My girlfriend and I wish to come back in the future to take a cheese making class, see the cows and bask in Clint and Kimâs glory....

Thorncrest Farm & Milk House Chocolate is definitely a place which makes me proud to live in this state. Immaculately clean, happy cows, super friendly and caring owners, and well decorated too!
You know itâs good when everyone waiting to buy some delicious chocolate is raving about how much they love the place. ( Flavors range from the famous lavender, to mint, raspberry, peanut butter, white chocolate, dark, and of course milk chocolate and everything in between including apricot and mocha.)
They also have vanilla milk, whole milk, and others from their well cared for cows! It is simply delicious and honestly for some reason my slightly lactose intolerant fiancĂ© can drink it! (not a medical endorsement but itâs what we experienced)
Overall, delicious chocolate and milk. This is a top place to visit in Connecticut if you enjoy delicious things. Do not miss out! And if you canât come order...
