Gower Convalescent Center — Local services in Gower

I am writing this review to thank the entire staff at GCC for giving my mother such excellent care for well over a year now. Since she was living in Kansas City when we needed assistance, it was surprising that we found this facility in Gower... but I am glad that we did. GCC is not a big place; nor is it high-tech, but it is a place where caregivers know residents by name, where they take interest in them and their stories, and where they respond to a broad range of needs in a caring and personal way. The staff at GCC is professional and excellent, from the top down, and the facility is always clean. They've always been willing to answer our questions and willing to address our concerns, As a pastor who spends a lot of time in nursing homes and retirement centers, I've seen facilities that have many more amenities, but I wouldn't trade any of them for the care my mother has received from so many people in this facility. My mom was moved to this place the end of Jan 2020 because the nursing home she had been in was in need of repairs so all the residents had to be moved. From the first day my mom was there, the staff took the best care for her, they had a caring staff & treated my mom so well, taking care of her individual needs. Sadly, my mom passed away on April 3, 2020 during the covid lockdown, the staff was very nice to let us go say bye to her body one last time & they packed up all her belongings & was very nice to get it back to us. Wonderful facility with staff that truly care about their patients. We recently had to move a family member into this facility during the COVID pandemic and they have been more than helpful with keeping us up to date and in the loop. This has been tough on a lot of my family members with different visitation rules in place but they have worked with us to ensure my grandma is getting the best care that she can.
