I love the red River of the north. I have spent many days canoeing down the red River pulling over at night and camping on the river's edge. I felt like I was tom Sawyer on a great adventure. You would not believe how peaceful it is drifting along with the current, deer along the bank along with the occasional farmers cows. You can rent equipment in Grand forks in the downtown area they no longer rent equipment at Lincoln Park. Just make sure you have flotation devices, food, water and know where the dams are and where you will have to portage your equipment.
