This place is out of control. They have six buildings and a few sheds to shop out of. The main building first floor is decent. The second floor is a disaster. They have so much stuff with clusters of items scattered around everywhere. Some of the stuff looks straight out of the 70's and my allergies flared up while here. There was so much dust it wasn't funny. Don't visit on a hot day as the is no ventilation or insulation in parts of the second floor. The incandescent bulbs do not help with the heat.
The old house is a pit. There are ceiling chucks hanging down ready to break, the building probably needs to be rehabbed or condemned.
The huge barn out back is a disaster. There are stacks and stacks of furniture piled on top of each other in tiny little aisles. Good luck getting help to find a matching piece to a set of their items which are scattered about haphazardly. The second floor of the barn is embarrassing. It must have their closeouts that no one ever purchased, all at full price. There is a corner wih massive amounts of bird droppings all over the furniture.
They do have some nice items, but the experience is a nightmare. Good luck finding matching pieces of...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO Stars I would! I am very disappointed in the Old Mill Pond Village Gift Shop. I recently bought some curtain valances for my kitchen and dining room. They were $22 each. I loved them. So, I went on-line to see if I could get matching 8 placemats, 8 napkins and a table runner.I found them in an on-line store. The store informed me that they are only wholesale..in other words..they sell only directly to stores. The lady said all I would have to do is call the store I bought the valances in and pay them and they could order it for me.No Problem ! So I called the Old Mill Pond Village Gift Shop. The sales lady informed me that they would not even entertain the thought of doing business with that company and wouldn't order them..She said they must have picked them up at a trade show...well what does that mean? On top of being taken back by what I was hearing,I was also speechless and disgusted. Customer Service..what's that? I have done alot of business with the Old Mill Pond over the years. Here I thought I was dealing with some nice little quaint gift shop. Never again !...
Read moreGirls day out. We wanted to check out their Christmas Shop. We work at a Christmas Shop and love to visit other shops. It was closed but the owners let us in to look around. It was absolutely beautiful and the selection of ornaments and collectibles are just incredible. We believe we have the best Christmas Shop in New England but this was spectacular too. They like us have been in business over 50 years. They also have a beautiful gift shop separate from the Christmas Shop. It too was outstanding with gifts, jewelry, clothes, candles, kitchen items and more. Plus other buildings filled with items to purchase. We only had time to go in the 2 shops & we spent about 2 hours. We had to leave but you could easily spend the day here. Enjoy this beautiful Christmas shop and visit us also at Wojtusik Nursery Christmas Shop in Bristol, Ct opening...
