Absolutely horrible. Went to buy Dayquil when I’m sick and already feeling horrible. Ring it up and it asks for age verification, on Dayquil? Okay I guess. (Mind you I’m 38 with a lot of gray in my beard/hair and have my 13 year old daughter with me). First older lady comes to help and ask if I have my ID (as I’ve been sick and just got out of bed to pick up my daughter I did not)I say no and she says won’t be a problem I can tell your old enough I just need to grab someone that can clear the machine. 20 something comes over with her and older lady says we can tell he’s old enough just need to enter the info. (Keep in mind this isn’t the stuff they track behind the pharmacy where an ID is absolutely required) She says you don’t have an ID, I explain the situation and she says no, can’t do it. This is an age verification for Dayquil, seriously. I explain I’m 38, have my 13 year old with me and can’t buy Dayquil? No… Okay you can keep all the items then and it will be the last I shop here. Read moreUpdate 7-22-23: I was out this direction and decided to swing in get some of their in house popcorn. This stuff is very good and reasonably priced. Also figured I'd grab dinner here from the hot bar as well. But one look and I immediately changedy mind. I've NEVER seen grayish brown mashed potatoes. 🤢 The Mac & cheese looked like it's been there since this morning. As did the dried out looking potato wedges and onion rings. The chicken looked okay but I wasn't risking it. Also a number of the items in there fried, baked and rotisserie chicken display showed sell by time's of 4pm and I'm here after 5pm.
Typical Spartan Nash store. Price points are a bit higher than say Meijer or Walmart. And definitely need a little better training on customer service. A couple times I've asked for help and not gotten it or tried to get employees to acknowledge me and had them pretend I wasn't there. The lady who was working at the Deli on Thanksgiving 2023 is a rare find these days (Not going to publicly state her name for privacy but it starts with an L and ends with an e)
Excellent customer service, thank you so much!! You make me want to come back to family fare more often which is exactly how you should make a customer feel. Please if you are management and are reading this please reward this employee, thank you.
In addition the store has always been very clean everytime I've stopped in and the people at the customer service desk and usually quite nice (Did have one issue before with one man being rude)
I think my only complaint is your bottle room, please upgrade these machines, they are horrible.
