Nice place to camp when visiting Grand Rapids Mn! $15 per night to pitch a tent. Campers are more. Only complaint was there was no caretaker around that we could find. Bathrooms on site include electricity, toilets, sinks and showers and were clean. Place to fill water bottles and laundry facilities too. Fire rings and picnic tables available and firewood can be collected or purchased (from caretaker). Quiet and not crowded. Right in town so close to stores and places to eat if you like that. Good fishing on local lakes, bike trails and lovely hiking trails through Chippewa national forest! Great for a long weekend getaway.

The campground is the first right hand turn after entering the grounds (Behind the grandstand). Staff came by to warn me in advance of an upcoming storm that might produce falling trees. The shelter onsite was the building with bathrooms and showers. Well maintained. Might be a little loud if there are events going on in the grandstand. Near the Judy Garland museum and attached children's museum. Within walking distance of a lake and beach. Short drive to the Forest History Center.

Quiet campground with a lot of space to camp out. Bathrooms are fairly clean. Could use a couple more picnic tables and fire rings throughout. Rustic camping was a "free-for-all" with no designated spots to set up and park vehicles. Beautiful space to spend a couple of days car camping in during Riverfest.

I came here for the swap meet and it was pretty cool. The fairgrounds aren't the biggest or the best, but the nearby water is a plus. The buildings are in good condition and the amount of parking space is adequate. The main downfall is the flow of traffic. One entrance and one exit (as far as I could see) led to some very slow traffic movement, which wasn't convenient.

The Swap Meet: The swap meet was very interesting and much larger than I was expecting. There was a lot of what many people would consider junk, and plenty of things that are new but not special. If you look around though there are some interesting things you can find (changes from event to event.) The cars can be cool, but the time I went there were only about three dozen or less. They do sell car parts but they are Chevy, GMC, and Dodge parts for...

We camped here for Riverfest, the music festival. We chose this campground because it was close to downtown and because it's right on the Mesabi bike trail. Not disappointed, in fact, it was prettier than the pictures would have you believe. Sites were all clean, grassy and well maintained. It's near a highway so it's loud if you're tent camping, but a pair of earplugs will fix that. The restroom and shower buildings are also clean albeit somewhat shabby, but hopefully you will find more fun things to do than shower when you're in Grand Rapids. Customer service is also good--you can check in online, and the staff answers questions very...
