When my family moved over the mountains from Hugo, the store was there but it seemed tired, old and ready to end its nearly 100yr old life. Many in the community figured the best was to tear it down. When it sold, can't thought the store; which was once a hotel, was soon going to be another thing of the past. However the new owners have given it new life. They opened up the space and brought in light and a new life. When you arrive there is someone greeting you with smiles and a "how are you" or a "welcome". I know people will think this is strange, but the building shows it's new life, you can feel it. Stop by if you can, if gor no othervreason but to take a look. They have a tap room, a small grocery area, food and gifts that are locally made and some of the biggest smiles and heart warming hellos. My favorite is Christmas when the front window has the tree, enormous village all lit up for everyone's enjoyment. Thanks for bring back this small part of the community for generations in the future to...
Read moreWe were lucky to have stayed in one of the AirBNB rooms connected to the business after a Veterans day trip in Klamath National Forest in Northern California. Before we even booked the trip the fact they had a tap room caught our attention. As the saying goes, " Look what we have in store for you" I'm not sure if the store lacked anything to be honest. They had everything you'd need. The beer selection was better than most stores you'd go into. The gal working the tap room was friendly and probably one of the happiest people I've met. The gal working the store floor was very friendly and very nice! If you're just looking for a quick stop for a few things.... or you just want a good brew and conversation this place, has it! If you have time, ask questions and learn the history of this place! Anytime we pass by this area in the future on a road trip or even just to stay at the store location again, the hospitality of the employees itself is worth its...
Read moreThis store is truly a whole in the wall, one of a kind find off the highway! Itâs family owned and they treat you like gold the second you walk in! Youâll never find a nicer staff and family. I was told the story of how they started and the place was in shambles when they found it, the family worked together and rebuilt everything from the ground up and itâs immaculate now! It was truly amazing what they have done to the building and community, if you havenât been to azalea itâs truly a little slice of heaven. I highly recommend stopping by and hearing their story and grabbing an icecream...
