Now let me start by saying this “summer year” not only have I become a big fan of watermelon but also a fan of Pennington watermelons. I started purchasing my Pennington watermelons from an outside seller in town (Palestine) .. Best watermelons I’ve ever had, each purchase never disappointed. Only have I been to the actual Pennington shed twice due to my seller in town either sold out or not selling that particular day. And each time I’ve went to purchase from the Pennington shed I’ve unfortunately purchased watermelons that were not close to being ripe! I’m slowly learning how to pay attention and pick great watermelons but I’d also like sellers at the shed who are intermediate experts and can help me purchase the best watermelons every time. Watermelon is a favorite of mine, but it has always been difficult to find a truly sweet one. Years ago my husband bought me one in Cass County, and it was a heavenly tasting watermelon.
