This is an amazing facility. We spent a few days at the Purina Event Center for the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club National Specialty. They have excellent facilities for hunt test, agility, rally and conformation events. We decided to stay on the grounds and rented a camper from Mid Mo Camper Rentals which was a super easy experience. The full hook up lot is right behind the event center. The security at Purina is top notch. The entrance to the entire area is gated and staffed and there is security that drives around very regularly all day and night. There is a really great cafe in the event center. We loved that the prices were very reasonable--you can buy a drink, keep the cup and refill all day long. The food is very good. And the people working in the cafe were so friendly and fun. There is also an upper level with huge glass windows (and a small balcony) looking down over the rings. It was quieter up there and provided a unique view of the events taking place in the rings below. Because of the tornado this spring, the visitor center is not currently open which would have provided a few other fun activities. But we did spend an afternoon at the St Louis Zoo (we had two young children with us). We also visited nearby historic Washington on the Missouri River. It is a really cute town with a nice walking path and parks along the river. We really hope that our Specialty comes back to Purina in the...
Read moreOMG, did Purina ever do this right? First off the Purina Farms facility is outstanding for Dog Sports. It is immaculate the staff is hands down some of the best folks I've run into in the dog world. The Great Hall, it was kept immaculately clean. There was always staff around if you had a problem or a question. It was done right. I would love to come back again for another dog show. We did have a tornado warning and they open the buildings for us, as I was in an RV and it was about 9 at night. The staff stayed with us kept us updated on the weather reports and again were just great. Thank you Purina for doing a good job in building this...
Read moreHuge, beautiful facility. My family really enjoys the holiday and special events each year, especially the Holiday Pettacular. (sp?) We love visiting cat city and watching the agility presentations too. Halloween was always a fun visit when the kids were smaller. Farm animals close enough to touch. (usually someone around to pet, like a bunny or a piglet) Hayloft for playing and toy tractors in dried corn to keep the littles busy for a few. Cute little gift shop and...
